Plagued Lolicon/Shotacon Defense Force - The people who jerk off to cartoon children and won't ever shut up about it

There's adult stuff from the 20s, 30s, and 70s I've seen that really negate this narrative. it's been fucking years and I haven't really watched them since so don't remember the exact names and titles for a lot of them and haven't watched em in years, but I think a big one that shows just how stagnant some discussions have been the last several decades, (or how much shits reverted I guess?) is stuff I DO remember like Fritz the cat
There's always been raunchy animation in the West, yes. The difference is that anime predominantly sexualizes school age kids, whereas in the West it's largely either furry shit or adult figures that get sexualized. And before you give me examples of teen horny bait in western animation: I'm not saying it doesn't exist at all, it's just not the bulk.
In defense of censorship, YGO was a fucking insane manga that was changed almostly completely to become a vessel to sell children a card game.
It wasn't a business strategy to optimize the show for profit. I don't know how it is now, but 90s children cartoons had very stringent regulations. Almost everything that's been censored in the 4Kids version of the show, they wouldn't have been allowed to broadcast otherwise in the US.

I hate to disagree, but Fritz was the debut of an independent director and the first animated film to receive an X rating from the Motion Picture Association of America, founded essentially in 1922. It seems disingenuous to pretend that it was the norm or repeated often.
To throw a bone, a lot of the golden age of animation shorts and content were intended for general audiences, which isn't quite the same as being only for kids.

Plus, to give one example to show it's not just a 90s and beyond thing, The Flintstones was a prime time animated series, and while it did turn into yet another kiddie cartoon from the second season onward, was not exactly super kid friendly in its first season. By modern standards it's incredibly mild, but it was aimed primarily at adults at the start.

You're bringing up loony toons? A literal slapstick comedy? Kek. Yeah horny people exist in western animation. It's different than in anime bro. Don't play dumb.
I'm not the one playing dumb here. The only difference in both sides of the world's animation industry is one speaks moon runes. I'm pointing out that you're straight up ignoring this, and your response further cements it.
Ultimate Muscle was on there and arguably waaaaay worse than YGO, so it's hard to pin down their standards
Their standards were timeslot and potential age bracket based IIRC, and very inconsistent, hence why people made fun of them.
Ultimate muscle was a big fucking success partly due to how they didn't severely censor it into unrecognizability like they did some things. Also if you look at the TMNT series they directly had a hand in making it's got plotlines about people being dismembered and cheeky ass "swearing but not swearing" moments.
They also had a weird obsession with making blank store signs even if the signs were originally in english. NO clue what the fuck that was about but it clearly wasn't even a censorship thing.

It wasn't "the norm" in a sense but there was a lot of adult marketed animated stuff around by the time fritz came out. Fritz was rated X though whch puts it at a higher level of vulgarity than most cartoons before or after.

EDIT: this is getting kinda off kilter, maybe go back to posting insane people defending loli/shotacon online again?

The Flintstones is an interesting example of the direction that cartoons would go eventually. Season 1 dropped in 1960, but the stories were largely focused on a realistic sitcom family. Fred does stuff like fake sick to go bowling instead of an Opera with his wife(opera is gay in the 60's) or dealing with the repossession of his Television. Definitely relatable themes for adults rather than children, but not mature in the way that we would come to view the word now. It was really like a proto-simpsons. Kind of cool in retrospect.

Attaching this was a pain in the ass. Hopefully it works

One side has a completely different culture that you ignore. Anime is objectively sexual. Does western animation also have objective sexuality? Yeah, no shit. It's not as blatant, and in a given market, such as teenagers, not nearly as prevalent. Yes you can give me exceptions. That doesn't make it the norm.

You also assume I revel in censorship. No. I accept the fact though that regulatory agencies exist for television programs. That's not changing. You can pirate or buy the blu ray if you have issues with this. I'm not going to argue or stop you; I have a substantial anime blu ray collection myself.

I also think changing lines for politics deserves a 30-06 to the head. Shenanigans like that are 4kids level overkill but with actual malice.

Catbox is a very haram site just for simply allowing anonymous file uploads and most of the time, it's used to share indecent material. I know seeing that domain on 4chan posts a lot has me develop the instinct to never click on any form of it.

Although CSAM is not permitted to be uploaded on the site, it is still the main hub where coomgoons can share their disgusting perversions. For this one fact alone, I will remain chaste.

That gifs from kinnikuman/MUSCLE's anime, which DIDN'T get brought to the US which makes the sequel series getting brought over even weirder. it DID get brought over as a manga though IIRC and long before that the figures got brought over and treated like tiny alien wrestlers by marketing people. The shading is a big tell.

EDIT: I think the original DID get get imported to mexico which makes sense given how much it takes from luchadore stuff. That is if I remember the weird localization trivia around the series correctly.

"Anonymity bad because pedos might use it!!!!!"
PLEASE DO NOT GO DOWN THAT PATH, THE PEDOS WILL MANAGE TO FUCKING WORK AROUND SHIT EVEN IF YOU KILL ANONYMITY ONLINE.

I use it if I'm sending a piece of music to a friend of mine to mix and master, because he's better at it than I am. So it has some good use. Can't throw the baby out with the bathwater.
