My nigga, the cunnyfag nonsense is a major component. Trying to write an anime that doesn't sexualize a child or objectify a woman is like trying to make spaghetti without meatballs.

Like I remember trying to get into Konosuba because a friend was into it and half of the fandom injokes are sexualizing the 15 year old witch character and calling the blue one a dumbass. I had no idea there were male characters until I (tried to) watch the first episode. I think there's one female lead that gets introduced later and her entire character is that she's a sexual sadist. It's so fucking cynical and trite. I wish I had the ignorance needed to enjoy this shit and not think about the implications.

Animes like Cowboy Bebop and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, work well dubbed because the dialogue is more refined and not overtly direct or cringe.

I've never seen Cowboy Bebop but this is another fun thing to use to show how bad anime is about women. Every time there's promo art of the main characters, everyone looks normal except for the adult girl character, Faye Valentine (pictured center right here):


Like you have this lineup of bad looking motherfuckers with distinct, earthy color palettes and their comic relief companion and then there's Valentine with character design specifically meant to draw attention to her breasts and vagina. She has a much brighter palette than anyone else specifically to accomplish this. Every time she's in key art or a poster or whatever she's posed like a Playboy pinup. This is apparently an anime about a bunch of outlaw bounty hunters on a spaceship which sounds cool as fuck but they have to go and do this. I'm sure they find a way to make boob jokes about the 13 year old as well or something.

It is a really good Anime, and despite the way she's dressed Faye is an interesting character with good writing and a compelling backstory. She dresses like that to use being attractive as a tool to get what she wants, i.e. flirting with a bounty target to lower his guard so you can make the arrest. It doesn't always work for her either. One thing I like about how they use Faye in the show is that she is never anyone's love interest. They don't try to pair her up with either Jet or Spike and as a group it makes her more like an annoying sister to them than anything sexual or romantic.

Also they never make any sexually adjacent jokes about Ed, the 13 year old, to the point where one of the most commonly asked questions about the show is whether Ed is a boy or a girl. Ed is just a weird tech savant.

Anyway, if you can look past the fact that Faye likes to wear hooker clothes, I can almost guarantee that you will enjoy Cowboy Bebop.

I think for anime like DBZ or Naruto that were popular when people were growing up it certainly leaves an impression. If you saw an anime like that on Toonami you're going to be biased to the dub.

That's why I called it conditioning, if a lot more anime consistently was on American television with similar quality and style of dub from back then til now, you'd have a lot more dub enjoyers.

If I had a Ph.D in psychology I would explore why the Japanese choose to make so stories about middle school and highschool aged girls.

The medium is sexual to its core regardless of what people want to admit. This is an extension of Japanese culture, which treats both sex and youth differently than the West, both as individual concepts and as a unified one. This manifests in scripts where there is more raunchy content than puritanical western designs. Women are drawn sexier, with flawless bodies, and with bright colors accentuating eyes and hair to make them more exciting to the viewer.

I wonder, but isn't this a side effect of the medium, and I mean animation as a whole.
Animated shows are fictitious in nature, not limited by the laws of reality, and as such allow far greater room in depicting whatever the author imagined. This and the fact that modern weebshit's goal is to sell merch, they are greatly incentivized to display flawless and easily recognised characters.

It wasn't always the case though, as older titles still had a spark of soul in them. A good example being a show called "Paranoia Agent" from the 90s, that depicted some ugly sides of their society and didn't draw the people as fuckable dolls, but rather average ugly japs.

I would also like to point that animation is sexual everywhere, both east and west, with a big reason being what I said earlier, in that there's no limitation, except your imagination. There's plenty of animated shows and movies, in the west, both older and recent, where the meme "the author's barely disguised fetish" is all but apparent.
The fact that the east churns out so much animation, leads one to believe that this is something only present there, but if you look at it proportionally, the west has it too.

And let me make one thing clear, I'm not an anglo, so I don't suffer through life with an autistic puritanical view. I have no problem with animations being sexual and fetish fuel, but I would really like that shit to be monitored more closely, so that kids don't get exposed to it. Then again, one could argue it's the parents job to look for the children, but that's a separate matter.
