Played a bit myself yesterday. Blitzcrank is fun, but I am not a fan of tag fighters in general, and the typical modern high damage / weak defense is just so tiresome at this point. . Going to keep playing here and there, but I have a bad feeling about balance and monetization in the long run.

i am not okay with that they mix king of fighters light middle and heavy attack, with tekken defending mechanics, also the defense doesnt work if the enemy keeps attacks through the defense.

i am also not okay with the tag button being on A instead of the RB/R1 button like in the tekken tag games, and the special moves being on LT/L2 and RT/R2

you can unlock two out of three champs (from vi, jinx and blitzcrank) in the beta which is incredibly stupid for a beta test.

i only had moderate success with solo darius and illaoi, but i got my ass handed pretty much every single match.

there are no punishments for plugging so far.

but yeah, this game sucks ass, not going to play it when it releases, too bad, i had a little bit of fun with this.
Who knows, with how much the game has gotten overhauled it might be a completely different game by release. Still, more ranks than fighters looks pretty poor for a tag game of all things, and who knows how fast they'll rectify.

I have heard issues with the inputs, might be because of fightsticks?

So I guess its exactly like League with free champs and the rest you have to buy or get on trial. Not the biggest fan, and its not like it hasn't been tried before (like KI).

it might make sense when they release all 170+ champs at once but i highly doubt it. probably just ingame currency grinding, one person said on youtube he had to grind one week for one character, and the currency is stackable until the new champ arrives.

i didnt have any issues on my controller, havent tried my fighting stick out yet, but i highly doubt i will redownload the game if they havent changed anything on release.

Not to necro the thread, but I wanted to bring up my experiences with the game. The music is bad, and the characters don't look or feel like LoL characters(I heard complaints that it's more or less Arcane the shitty fighting game mroe than a LoL game). You get a 4 characters, but you gotta buy grind for the rest through matches; however, you can do their combo trials if you want to try them out. My biggest gripes are with the controls and how the over-simplicity makes the game worse. You got 3 attacks buttons, a tag button, and 2 special move buttons. On a generic d-pad (I played this on my new PC), It felt like a nightmare to do combos that required you to use the tag or each special move button; then you got special tag gimmicks, which contradict the simplicity the devs are pushing for. Maybe it's easier on a stick, but I'm not getting a $200+ stick for a shitty game. Speaking of combos, Warwick's beginner combos mostly consist of Special move button two, and some beginner combo inputs I tried were copy and pasted to each character.

Long story short, it's dog shit awful, and it feels more like Temu League than an actual LoL game.

you can get cheap ones for 50-60 bucks. i recommend those from mayflash, if you feel like upgrading your buttons, check if the fighting game sticks are swappable and compatible with sanwa parts.

Not to necro the thread
between necro or making a new thread i prefer necro, which is funny because forums back in the day ran on shitty panels and making new threads meant cluttering everything and conversations sometimes repeated the same content but in some faggoty forums they still throw a bitchfit and ask you to make a new thread rather than continue a relevant conversation, peak retarded.

Ah, yes. The Pokemon problem. Pokemon has been doing the same, exact thing for like 30 years now, it still attracts kids, and it has retained a lot of it's grown up fanbase. Quality's taking a nosedive but nobody seems to care. Still a massive success. Dirt cheap to make. Runs on a potato. If you know what you are doing you can very easily set up sweeps on the opponent that are very difficult to counter. It lets you be good and flex your knowledge. It lets you create a power gap.

Meanwhile fighting games are on this mad dash to make themselves wheelchair accessible and to allow anyone to do 50% HP super long combos and the FGC that has been at it for 30 years just really isn't having it, AND Lil' Jimmy is still glued to Fortnite, because you can melee fight AND shoot guns AND drive cars in Fortnite, so that is just cooler. Graphics are getting better and better for no particular reason and it's often harder to parse what the fuck is going on now than it was 20 years ago because everything is overdesigned. Bad players can hang easier but it's not like they can reach the upper echelons anyway, so no one's happy. There is no power gap. Every character can twoshot. So it no longer feels special when someone does. Everyone can comeback with meter+rage too. We took the hype out, replaced it with participation awards.

Well I for one am flabbergasted at this development. One button fighting game where you just rape shit from fullscreen with Teemo and no counterplay flops? Whoa, man. Insane outcome.

I wonder if fighting games will realize that chasing the Max Dood demographic isn't gonna fucking work before it's too late. It might already be too late. For fighting games to get MOBA big, they'd have to clear the very first, very difficult hurdle of...

... Being actually good. Like fun to play. Hard to master. Have a skill ceiling. I don't know how this was repeatedly achieved until the 2010s started and then suddenly all the companies got these lofty ideas about what fighting games COULD be, and it definitely isn't anything that players would actually want or like.

You didn't add the character who's literally a fucking street fighter to your fighting game.

Eat shit and die, how are you this retarded.

Keep in mind they wasted 10 years developing a generic tag fighter so atrociously bad that neither casuals or hardcore players thought it was a top contender

They had me fighting for my life just to get close enough to even consider finding a combo mix up into a command grab over 10+ years ago.
Now, I have the pleasure of waking up and getting 50/50’d into a wall to wall unblockable combo while I pray to whichever god will listen to patch the game and release new content.

I want to die.

The FGC loves it, friend. They love retarded queers in wheelchairs playing fighting games, they make a point of celebrating their they/thems and Sonicfoxes and whatever the fuck Hungrybox has that makes him act like Hungrybox.

The issue is that the FGC is an astroturfing platform for Capcom and not an actual organic community or representative of what actual human beings want from their video games. Thus developers are getting very strange feedback when they design a game with the FGC in mind.

the main issue was they added gay niggercattle tranny champs catered to faggots and women, such as jinx, yasuo, ahri, ekko, teemo, etc. the game would be thriving if they instead added masculine male champs for high test men (like me) such as udyr, volibear, nasus, yorick, trundle, etc. also tag fighters have never been good, huge mistake there. also arcane viewers don't give a single fuck about video games, they should have worked on it longer instead of trying to release for people that were never going to play it to begin with.

Riot keeps forgetting that their biggest profit comes from chink bugmen playing their MOBA, who have little to no interest in anything else.
This happened to the TCG, this happened to the FG, and will very likely happen to the MMORPG if that even sees the light of day

People are already seething over this turd. I don't feel bad for anyone who got laid off (they were lucky to have jobs for 9 years).

This should be a case study for what you're not supposed to do as a developer when a billion dollar company gives you lots of money and time to make a game for them.

Yet despite the 12 million sales, Pokemon ZA is still one of the worst selling Pokemon games below Arceus and BDSP, and Pokopia was struggling to get sales. Eventually people will get sick of the slop.

Only 30-40 something year-old millenials in SoCal and tourists milking the "wheelchair accessibility" in fighting games/the fgc are playing fighting games nowadays (vtumors, internet celebs, far leftists, trannies, young "esport pros" who will move to other scenes). Fighting games and the developers kept relying on nostalgia, but it's not working like it used to. Not even the endless CoTW ads in last year's Wrestlemania made people want to play shitty CoTW, Fortnite adds content kids and manchildren will consume. Fighting Games give you less, and demand you buy day-one disc-locked content containing frame data and characters you had access to in older games.

You didn't add the character who's literally a fucking street fighter to your fighting game.

Not only that, but they were also stupid enough to make a roster based off Arcane, a very divisive show (Arcane was super woke). Also, who the fuck likes Illaoi?! Nobody likes her, and she felt like a DEI choice (We could have had Sivir, Katarina, Vayne, etc). Then they tripled down on the stupidity by not only giving you a small roster, but also less characters to use on release (better open your wallet or grind wins if you want to use everybody). This game could have been a cash cow, and the devs blew it.

Thats because the FGC Has been dead for a decade. The organizers saw money and kicked all the fun out.
Fighting game devs have been pandering Esports, the SoCal FGC, woke lefties, and Max/Justin Wong/Knee/Sonic Fox for years. Now the chickens are coming home to roost because nobody wants to play today's fighting games.

The most irritating part is that we already had Brolylegs, Literally had to play with his face at the highest level and proved that input accessibility is just fundamentally a skill issue. Appealing to people that don't already want to play your games sends you into the same spiral that comics did with all the tranny and homosexuality self-inserts and retcons.
