I'm actually not sure Australia's government is actively doing anything here, its perhaps best characterised more by laws intended for good having bad consequences and inaction . The guy went and did a form and ASIC hid the "current" details, a protection that probably exists because of things like letting victims move on, hide from abusive partners etc . It seems the bar is pretty low to do this (as simple as a stat-dec, it seems). However obviously it's in the realm of too-little, too-late at this point. Same with YouTube, they got a request and didn't spend lawyer time to validate it - and just did the safe corporate thing of taking the content down.

I would personally use spoilers to keep different sections compartmentalized but, then again, I've never made a thread like this. Use underscored and maybe slightly larger text when titlting sections. Big text with emphasis = new section, smaller text is info. I think the OP will start to look more organized in general as you build on it.

Multiple discords are dealing with the rumours that BWE has somehow re-infiltated the community, or is operating there as an alt.

He seems to think Console Repair Discord is scorched. They turfed BWE, they banned all his known alts, and they've put out a statement that they think on the balance that its probably true, and they don't endorse/condone that stuff..

Obtained control of server from BWE once the Rossmann videos dropped. Was then exiled by the admins.

However, it appears that one particular user is getting repeatedly flagged as being an alt for BWE. causing some fights in the discord. Digital Dan's Tech Repairs are not affiliated with TheCod3r as far as I'm aware.

Its certainly a similar modus operandi, however its slightly threadbare as a link. Its a good video to show the type of circle we're dealing with here though.

Also of note today, the cover-up of many of his domains and sites is well underway - Cloudflare failing on BWE.dev, betterwayelectronics.com.au, insightforensics.com.au and the inspid.com.au sites. Only matter of time till his Reddit is cleaned up too and this thread and the archive links are all that are left.

It gets better... turns out this is a transcript from the most recent episode of Background Briefing, a current affairs show that airs on ABC Radio National, one of the few radio stations available everywhere in Australia. Maybe the couple million regular RN listeners across Australia have heard by now too.

Genuinely a good listen if the yanks can handle the accents. I don't think there's really anything in there that's factually incorrect, and I like Rossmann's reference to HWNDU as an example of the power of Internet detectives. Though I do find it a shame they managed to get an interview with the AFP guy who put Luan in prison and beyond giving out a few additional nuggets of information, there's really no commentary as to the ridiculous decision from the judge to let that monster out early.

What would be really kino is if RN released the uncut interview with Rossmann, or if @larossmann himself releases it.

I think the AFP guy mentioned that Luan was the first example of someone being prosecuted in Australia for using a remote administration tool (RAT) for criminal purposes, and that this was in the days of Myspace. He's a rare breed of criminal scum, similar to Corey Barnhill. And his appetite for computer intrusion wasn't beaten out of him in prison.
