The best way he could get employment would be by working with his social service agency to see if they have any programs for employment for the exceptional. In the town where I am from, they have an agency that puts exceptional individuals into jobs. Things like grocery store baggers, rolling silverware at a restaurant, and other menial jobs. The employer is well aware that the person they are hiring is exceptional and they work with that person. These are part time jobs that pay minimum wage and the employer gets a tax break. Lucas would keep his tugboat. Lucas would never do work like that and the social service agency would maybe not want to help him with this due to how noncompliant Lucas is.

EDIT:. If I am not mistaken, I think since they are hiring an exceptional individual through a human services agency, they may be able to pay less than minimum wage in many states.
