Minoxidil is cheap and covered by medical under circumstances, so is finasteride. The only thing about it, is that it takes a year or more under consistent use to make progress; something people like him can't manage.

Lucas is living in possibly the best city for the homeless. Those living rough in Spokane have better opportunities for rehabilitation and yet. Seattle has permanent tent city residents, Philly has a population that's had a lot of the same people on the street for decades.

Spokane tries to 'move them along' and since it's a smaller city, succeeds to some extent.
The mayor is starting some new push on it as well. Can't compare to a big, Real City.

Lucas though, is the intractable homeless. The bum that prefers bumming. It doesn't matter where he is, he's going to sink into some rehabilitation/shelter scheme again and again, endlessly, with moments of street sleeping and hotels in between.

That's probably good for him and his sanity, but it's not good for us. He doesn't even bother to make his own memes anymore, he just reposts tired liberal memes. The majority of his content absent hot political takes seems to be creating an endless amount of his own stupid games, which clearly entertain only him.

There needs to be some element to prod Lucas's story forward, for him to produce milk again. Either he's going to have to lose his housing, or there's going to have to be some new wrinkle to the pattern that emerges.

It would seem that the drug cocktail he receives on a daily basis is doing a very good job of keeping his temper in check, while simultaneously curtailing the most antisocial, disgusting, and thus most fun to laugh at, aspects of his personality.

Unless things change dramatically, I'm considering Lucas in a holding pattern right now. There are other cows who are much more currently active, whose stories are currently moving forward in new and interesting ways, like the ongoing legal saga involving Russell Greer. I don't even think there's any point for Klick to necessarily compile the videos Lucas makes that are just the camera facing a table with cards on it, with some asinine music layered over top. It's a waste of @klickitat 's time IMO.

This is why exactly what happened around the same time last year. There were days before another page was added to his list of failures. And then we received the greatest Christmas miracle of all: Lucas got catfished under the guise of a rich millionaire sooner who was going to give him a cushy mansion to live in. And lest we forget the frozen catfish meltdown that ensued. There’s still time for a Christmas miracle. Don’t lose hope just yet.

I think this is the reason 100%.

He is supervised, provided for and made to stay on his regular drug regimen. All the times in the past when he was medicated he was also pretty docile and boring. It was only when he thought he was “better” or because he blamed the psych drugs for his weight gain did he quit taking his pills and immediately spiral. But with nurses and 24/7 supervision quitting his meds isn’t really an option now so boring Lucas may be what we get for a long while. I can imagine he is made to take his pills daily under observation of a nurse in order to stay in compliance with the rules of living there. This makes him arbitrarily quitting his meds unlikely.

Of course I don’t put it past him to do some stupid shit, but it would have to be pretty egregious for him to be kicked out or something similar. If you think about it Lucas is basically imprisoned at Mallon. Not much opportunity to rebel and if he did decide to up and leave what‘s he gonna do? He has no money as all his gov gibs go straight to Mallon. I even wonder if he has a payee anymore managing what little funds he had? I assume that responsibility is now in the hands of the people at Mallon also.
