I often complain that Lucas is past his prime as a cow, but this current manic episode shows that he still has what it takes to entertain distant strangers without intending to.This is legitimately the funniest possible outcome for the current half-dead Werner. The exact thing Lucas always imagined was happening to him actually fucking happened. Lucas finally lowered his standards enough to go after some chick from the tard house instead of a cute zoomer bae, and he still got cockblocked by an alleged toothless “Mayga” with supposedly even less money than him. Obviously Lucas’s account of these events is dubious, but no matter what actually happened this freakout is superb. I know I missed his true glory days (I think I first hopped in after he came back from the nuthouse like 4 years back?) and he’s clearly past his prime, but god damn I’m glad I get to enjoy at least one last manic episode with you guys.
Lucas has fixated on older women before, surely. His one confirmed romantic partner, the one that he went to jail for stalking, was older. In the early days of his glory, he often framed his interest in millennial gash (it was millennials before they aged and he switched to zoomers) as an explicit rejection of older women, after having grown tired of their bullshit. At some point, he went all in on the child bride thing.
But in addition to being the guy who's always asking "where's the party at, Gen Z?" Lucas is an opportunist. Lucas tries to pick up women at psych wards and nursing homes, because these are the kinds of environments he moves around in, and there are women there.
I suspect that any halfway attractive woman that Lucas has regular contact with, who treats him with even a scrap of kindness, will become the target of his...romantic longing. In his prime he was forever trying to contact teen puss puss. He went out hunting it with junk food and signs. This current freak out is good, even if it lacks the zoomer bae angle. And part of it is context, as you've pointed out. When Lucas "plays in his own league," so to speak, he still loses.
