After watching some of the podcasts people paid Lucas to do, I've came to the realization that Lucas couldn't reach the levels of mental stability that it would take to keep a job for longer than a week. He'd be rambling on about telomeres by the first hour and if someone had an opposing view to what he was saying he'd start screaming at them that they were bigoted and agephobic. His mental state is so off too that even if he was able to keep a job and eventually own a home, his schizophrenia would scare away any potential girl. The hosts of the interview kept playing along as if he was not incredibly mentally ill which I did not like. Telling a schizophrenic to get a job is a fucking joke to me too. From what I've seen of schizos and work, they do not go together well. Referring to them the same way as you would a sane person and telling them to get a job is destructive. They are not meant for the work environment. They almost always will get fired. This will severely stress them out and heighten their schizophrenia symptoms. I do not believe that schizophrenics and the internet go very well together either. The only hope for Lucas is to hope that some family will take him in. I do not see a happy ending for him.

Lucas is a transactional creature. He approaches socializing as a series of trades. He offers folks something of value to get what he wants. It's usually EBT purchased food, or weed. I figured "background sarcasm", which Lucas has referred to a few times recently, was similar to the "background bigots", "voices on the wind", i.e. voices in Lucas' head saying things he doesn't like. Which seems to be the case, but it's worse than that. This post seems to say that he thinks other people can hear the voices too and can be influenced by them. That the reason a zoomer bae might ignore him is that she hears one of the voices say "Nah, he ain't lonely", but that his weird magic seduction phrases can nullify that, or something. Wild. Also extremely crazy that he will just nonchalantly refer to things like voices "in the background" and expect other people to 1. know what the fuck he's talking about and 2. believe his repeated denials of schizophrenia. I know that when he's been called out directly about hearing voices or being schizo he gets super angry and defensive. And yet he'll make a post like this. The hardest part with people with schizophrenia is it’s estimated that half of all people with schizophrenia view everything as normal. There’s a phrase for it but I’m spacing it right now. So schizophrenia symptoms are divided into 2 groups positive and negative. Positive for the most part are the hallucinations, and delusions, as well as taste and smell, disorganized or confused speech, and movement disorders. While negative focuses on speech, feelings of pleasure, withdrawal, and struggles with daily life.

Usually the positive side effects fall off with age, but the negative gets worse over time. The main reason (in my opinion (not an expert but I love learning about psychology)) is the homeless factor. Positive traits fall off given stability. Even without professional intervention they fall off (but fall off faster with profession intervention) usually around 40-45 or at least start too. Given that Lucas is homeless and constantly surrounds himself in busy/crowded areas (i.e. shelters, food kitchens, malls ((pre-covid and during covid), bus stops, and the college ((pre and during covid)) only worsens his condition which is why we see “the voices on the wind” getting worse. And it’s also why he clings to the bipolar diagnosis (whether true or not), because it’s his way of normalizing his illness by attaching himself to something with less of a stigma.

I don’t feel bad for Lucas specifically because he’s you know, a piece of shit, but I do feel bad for anyone suffering from mental illness. Does his mental illness excuse his behavior? Fuck no. He’s still a creep and a shit person, but it hurts watching his illness get worse. And if this was 4-5 years ago I would think there’s a chance at a happy ending, but now I don’t think there is one. I’ll still laugh at his stupid bullshit, but there is still a little pain behind the laugh. I still hope there’s a chance that he’ll have a meltdown to the point where he’s on involuntary commitment for longer than a few weeks but very unlikely. It just sucks thinking about how much stress his body is going through just from his mental illness and not even considering how little he takes care of it.

I've been thinking about what he said-......Now and she smiles as her eyes squint. People squint their eyes for various reasons. Sun related like going from a dimmer lit area to bright full sunlight-squint to help the pupils adjust. Some people with vision problems also tend to squint to focus better. There is also another reason why some people squint their eyes-- when they are seeing/hearing something they find distasteful. That honestly doesn’t even seem like the same person. What I read of that seems like a redeemable and worth saving person. Now he can barely form a sentence.
