Once something is out of his field of vision on the day that it occurred, it's out of his mind.

Just think: Lucas ate food based on the generosity of religious organizations in Spokane and Olympia for close to 10 years. And we all know what Lucas had to say about those religious people.

If 10 years worth of the food that he values above All Else couldn't get him to speak about someone even neutrally, what good is getting him a single pair of shoes on one day going to do?

Case in point, as far as why buying Lucas shoes was a mistake:

Lucas's hilarious 8-bit NES backpack looks relatively new. Lucas recognizes the importance of having a portable bag to carry his meager collection of possessions.

Apparently, he doesn't value the things that separate his feet from the cold hard ground.

Lucas will spend his own money, or otherwise acquire through donation organizations, things that he values.

The fact that Lucas had a black open cut on the bottom of his foot, and a similarly placed hole in his shoe, indicates to me that this didn't bother him that much.

Shit, he could have used some of the million feet of tape that he's used to dirty up Spokane telephone poles to tape over the open hole on the bottom of his shoe, but he didn't do that, did he?

If the comment left on the video by the 17 year old is accurate, it wasn't a decoy.

It was an actual 17 year old that he'd somehow managed to get to feel sorry enough for him to tentatively agree to meet him for a burger; she flipped on him in the comments to that video when he claimed they were planning to hook up and, yeah, that's so much worse than falling for a catfish if the person he was talking to was actually 17.

I agree, it's like the people that buy stuff for Kailyn Wilcher's daughter Gracie.
Kailyn gets money to buy things for Gracie, but would rather buy cheap Chinese tarps or more pallids for herself. Per my wife who’s a nurse:

Looks like a stage IV ulcer (a wound that’s damaged through skin, fat, muscle and bone). But since it’s all escharred - it’s really unstageable - can’t really tell how deep it’s gone. That wound could have also tunneled through underneath the skin so no telling how big and deep that wound bed actually is.

Edit: She also said that if left untreated it will eventually take his foot.

These comments are a fascinating glimpse of where Lucas is at. He is creating a ton of content, apparently, for the cops of Spokane, and folks around the telephone poles of skid row.

Granted, Lucas isn't a reliable narrator, but as he describes his experience he's following girls he finds attractive, talking to himself in public. Posting his puss puss snare/attraction signs "all over Spokane in red Sharpie ink with lots of tape, 5 notes a day." Displaying no insight into his behavior, or the way others treat him: Cops checking in on him as part of their beat? Lucas is flattered. He doesn't realize he's become a public nuisance.

For sure. I personally would never spend money on a cow like Lucas. I have to admit Goldoar gave us some great content. The last episode and the massive chimpout Lucas had was outstanding. Plus we got to overhear the police giving him a citation for trespassing. Those were all plenty good things. But they did come with negatives.

Lucas's ego got even larger and he was so smug when Goldoar was giving him handouts. And Lucas treated Goldoar like crap. He really did. And if Skeletor and his partner do the same, well, they will get the same results.

If they want to spend money to poke the cow and get content out of Lucas, then I guess that is their prerogative. I disagree with it and discourage it, but I will enjoy the content.
