I never thought I'd see someone try so hard to imitate the MLP style and make the mistake of having legs being weirdly placed and far too skinny for the body. I agree with you completely, but replace "made" with "traced".
Also I don't know much about the show or the style but if I were a betting lad I'd say that she's been trying to copy this person's horse style, and possibly even stealing their angel poses.
Could also have started by copying this person who seems to do the same notched leg thing she has going on, does generic ych poses and claims to be an asexual furry despite half their gallery being horse anuses.
Now I need to bleach all that from my soul and computer.

Oh, I severely doubt that she was only copying those certain individuals. For a time, around 2013 or 2014 these hooves, and the squished, wide face, the anime eyes, the cubic muzzle...were all very popular "choices" for pegasister artists to make. I think there was SOMEONE in particular they were all copying... I swear it was someone in that popular tumblrpon circle, or maybe it was one of those horrific art incest circles where everyone was diddling everyone else's art style to poor effect. The "notched in" leg is based in real equine anatomy but given that she knows Jack Shit about equine anatomy, evidenced well enough by the horrific, floating shoulders, she has NO IDEA why she is doing it, what it even represents. She just think it looks cool to do...

So it looks incredibly unnatural, which at this point is just a staple of her art. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
