Luna's style reminds me of 14 year olds on deviant art drawing MLP, not a 20 something year old artist. I will say they've improved a bit on their face shapes (and hair).
Something I don't really understand is how this person can think that they're in any danger of being murdered/hate crimed. I'm assuming this is a white, middle class, probably "cishet" passing person. The only thing that anyone would take as "queer" would probably the dyed hair and whatever ugly ass bow tie t shirt combo Luna wears. I guess that's why she has to pretend to be a minority on tumblr?
Also, language policing on tumblr seldom makes sense. Everyone makes a big deal about words like stupid and crazy, yet they throw around words like queer, an actual slur?

A friend told me recently about this person. Their art is just 100x times worse than AM/Labelle's which I've been reading the thread recently when I have time. At least Labelle has some sort of style going on that is reminiscent of other cartoons or that is at least recognizable but this is just too bad to take. From what I've seen anything they bring up isn't even controversial to begin with. She also somehow believes she is oppressed because she's asexual which is baffling. She should be oppressed for her incredibly bad taste in clothes thought, a bowtie, are you for real?

Asexual people on tumblr are weird because they think they're super oppressed because they don't wanna fuck anyone.
If you told any human on the street "I'm not interested in sex or relationships" the vast majority of them would say "oh, ok" and nothing else would happen. You ain't gonna get beaten or shanked for being asexual no matter how much you want to be oppressed you can't magically be oppressed.

Parents don't assign the baby their "gender" at birth, the baby's sex is observed by the doctor/the midwife/whoever else helps the woman giving birth (even if intersex conditions aren't always discovered until the child has grown older). Much like other troons, Luna has no understanding of material reality.

I wish I would have found this thread sooner. I knew of Anonymous Asexual a few years ago, and I rediscovered it yesterday, complete with the Patreon and a goal of $20,000 a month to be a full time webcomic artist.

I knew Luna IRL a long time ago. We were friends, then she went to a private liberal arts college (of course) to double major in writing / digital art (also of course), as she slowly transitioned from Pegasister and decent digital portraits of fantasy characters, to full blown SJW cringe. Once she got a girlfriend, that was the last I heard from her for a few years.

About 6 months ago, I ran into her. She was back in town, working at a retail store (WITH BRIGHT BLUE HAIR. It looked like the solid blue colored Colgate. Not the tri-color Colgate she has now.) waiting for her girlfriend to finish the semester so they could move out to the east coast. They didn't have any jobs lined up, they were going to find jobs after they moved out there. Maybe those $160,000+ student loans will somehow pay themselves off?

Anywho, I'm rolling at all the threads about the webcomic.

It could be a case of a person coming out after they move out of their parent's house and are able to fully explore themselves at college. Or she found a group of similar minded people and gained the confidence to start publishing it. Or maybe! She wasn't getting enough attention from the MLP Fandom and wanted to get more notes on Tumblr. I can't say for sure.

Yep! Thought it was a joke at first. Nope, she's serious. If you look at her Patreon page, $20,000 a month for "full-time", or $5,000 a month for "part-time". I work a full-time job making $18 an hour. After taxes, I bring home about $1,900 a month. Pretty good for around where I live, but could be better. I wouldn't even know what to do with $5,000 a month.

I guess Luna forgot to learn what arms were while she was doing the art major. I do wonder if her parents were going to pay for it but then cut her off after a spat related to her newfound toothpaste identity. Or maybe she has the idea that she’s a modern artist who will get big and make enough money to pay off a private college’s loan, and therefore doesn’t need them anymore.
