these poses make my body ache just looking at them. she draws the same head and neck shape first and doesn’t draw a matching body at all so they look like hunchbacks. they just give off such a “cursed image” vibe

Just found this thread and read through it, very entertaining!
Allow an art fag their supergiant for a moment if you will; I see a few compliments towards the faces she’s draws and this isn’t wholly unwarranted but unfortunately cannot be attributed to any skill.
She has very very clearly been tracing someone’s expression chart (most likely one with just the face and no head which is why she’s cant align the two) and why those expressions are always in 3/4 view at the same angle.
It would also seem her “blank” characters are exact copies of the “ych” anime posing pages that are enabling a very very lazy generation of tumblr artists.
If I have time tomorrow I could probably find her exact “references” with some very light googling, but yeah, that’s why the faces can look decent but the proportions, poses and backgrounds and broken lazy shit.

I think people who bend over backwards to say that vore can be nonsexual are hilarious. Just recently I saw someone say that vore happens in children's cartoons (since in like Tom and Jerry, they eat characters whole?) Like, you wouldn't take a piss and call it watersports, vore is very specifically a fetish.

Tumblr might partially be right with the whole pedo vibes thing. To defend yourself so aggressively on how your fetish isn't sexual, and then projecting it onto children? It's fuckin weird and delusional at the very least. I doubt that she's actually a pedophile, though.
You can't take a piss on some kiddo or do other gross shit to them and try to say it isn't a fetish, Luna. Even if you don't get off to it, some degenerates that follow you most definitely will.

Y'know, I never really thought about her using/tracing over YCH stuff or other people's expressions but that would make sense... If you could find something that'd be hilarious, people would flip. Most Tumblrinas can stomach shit art, but everyone hates an art thief.

You definitely have a point when it comes to the traced/heavily referenced expressions. She reposted this expression sheet on IG over 3 years ago and just by looking at her art, you can tell she still uses that thing. Especially with the noseless "anons" - she tends to give them them those giant lips and guess what! This sheet has 'em too.
As for poses, I believe she either freehands or doesn't know how to reference properly. Those YCH/pose reference sheets usually feature better anatomy than whatever Luna comes up with, not to mention that they're often more dynamic and more specific (like a sheet with 10 poses with swords).
I watched a few of her videos and she rarely goes over any parts of her sketches or uses Ctrl+Z. Whatever she posts is usually her first try. Lmao.

This would certainly explain why she tends to freehand the faces -particularly the nose - in her speedpaints seemingly without any struggle. Though my guess would be that she doesn’t trace the expressions anymore so much that she got so used to tracing that she can draw the freehand now without it, since she recycles the same 5 faces anyways.

Well, this explains, and confirms, a lot. She's just drawing over poses with actual structure to them. In her videos I did almost believe she was drawing the initial gestures herself until I watched her draw over them and have no idea what half of the line work was actually representing. She doesn't draw faces or clothes ON the characters, just kind of over them.
I started doing a bit of a breakdown but then I won't lie, I got INCREDIBLY bored.
She literally traces the same thing three times, four if you count the fact that I'm pretty sure her initial sketch is also traced off either an incredibly light layer or one she edits out of her speed paints (there are noticeable cuts in the video)
I don't know if they count the ych stuff as free game or what, but it's pretty easy to hunt down most of her poses. I know I've seen the one on her page with the cat lunging at her somewhere before too, but man I couldn't be bothered to do more than a cursory glance. Sorry!

Honestly yeah, YCHs are kind of considered fair game for some reason. I’ve seen plenty where artists will have traced/referenced the exact same pose from something to sell as a YCH and ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As much as I'm not a fan of RANDOM XD art, I truly believe that her older art was better, probably because it was much more appealing and even had a bit of personality to it.

First of all, that's an excellent analysis of her technique! I have to agree, she doesn't really know how to add detail to her sketches so even if those had perfect anatomy (they don't), it'd still look like a hot mess. It wouldn't have been so jarring if she was going for a simpler style, but this is pretty "semi-realistic". Yet she can't even draw sleeves well, lmao. Don't get me started on the toothpaste smear she calls hair.
