Poodles are very intelligent, but tend to have a bit of an attitude problem. Not as much as a typical terrier or chihuahua, but they're not the friendliest dogs in the world.

OTOH, Labs are some of the most friendly doggos you could ever meet, though they're hyperactive af. You either need a big backyard or plenty of walks (often both) to keep those buggers happy, and they never quite grow out of the puppy stage no matter how much you train them. Imagine 70ish lbs of ADHD throwing itself at you as soon as you walk in the door after a long day at work.

Labradoodles are the best of both worlds, at least in my experience.

Real talk. Parents who go to the trouble of getting their daughters hair to be stupid long have to invest alot of time and care into it, because there is not a 5 year old on earth that knows the importance of brushing that shit out every night, or what products to use, or how often to wash it. Shearing that shit off randomly for no reason is a massive insult, and its no surprise parents of daughters who do this shit as an act of rebellion have, without fail, an intensely negative reaction to it. Something they literally spent years and years working on as an act of care and love cut off in a day.

Both the cartoon and live action films of 101 Dalmatians lead to batshit insane amounts of Dalmatians being born in puppy mills and euthanized young because nobody cared to find out what the dogs were actually like. They just wanted a trendy accessory/toy rather than a companion pet that requires tons of dedicated training.
