"Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

My wife and I had an agreement that we'd aim for at least four kids, but if we ended up with 4 boys or 4 girls we'd consider having more. (Ended up being a non-issue after kid 2)

I think the consideration is normal especially if you're wanting a big family anyways. I would have been happy, but a tad sullen if none of my kids ended up being a son I could teach how to hit things with a stick. Next stop, bigger sticks and rocks.
"Well, Mr. Tad Sullen, have you thought about teaching your daughters how to hit things with sticks?"

If you religiously follow "8 hours bottle-to-throttle" like you're supposed to do for planes, and you don't speed, and you keep your fucking head on a swivel, driving is pretty damn safe.

But you can still be fucked by outside forces; so it's something to think about.

Driving is much nicer if you avoid niggertown and niggertimes.
Driving doesn't have to be complete chaos. Basic common sense and courtesy go a long way since it seems almost all of road problems are caused by people driving selfishly.
I would like to see some published and standardized set of etiquette, tiebreaks, niche situation rules, and hand signals.
Also something like a literacy test for drivers licencing along the lines of a very lightweight psychological exam.

I get nervous about talking about it because everyone, when huwitey gets upset when you bring up more driving rules. But I have seen what truly good traffic flow can be from very lucky arrangements of other drivers.

Imagine ideal flow on the road as a waltz, different places in different stages of the dance, but nontheless flowing between eachother carefully and in step. Flow on the highway is more like multiple military marches at once, everyone keeps to their own group at a constant pace, but navigate around slower marching groups smoothly and orderly.

I find a big problem is when people are courteous and don't follow the rules. Trying to merge onto the freeway and the dillweed on the freeway slows down when I was already carefully planning to swing in behind him. Letting cars out from a side road when they're planning to use that giant gap 3 cars behind them and now they've closed the gap and look annoyed when the car from the side road doesn't pull out.

Exactly! I think this is a product of otherwise courteous frivers having a poor grasp on what is best for the overall flow of traffic and defaulting to what they see as kind.
This is one thing I'd like to see in the etiquette. On the road, the case where another driver is at a stop and wishes to merge onto the road you are on, you have the right of way. The best thing you can do is continue at speed (or speed up if you are permitted) as on busy roads traffic lights make gaps for these drivers.

If it makes anyone depressed as fuck, the requirements for a private pilot license are damn high and reading the NTSB reports indicate that … it’s all rich idiots holy fuck.

THE PRIVATE PILOT AND A PILOT RATED PASSENGER WERE GOING TO PRACTICE SIMULATED INSTRUMENT FLIGHT. WITNESSES OBSERVED THE AIRPLANE'S RIGHT WING FAIL IN A DIVE AND CRASH. EXAMINATION OF THE WRECKAGE AND BODIES REVEALED THAT BOTH OCCUPANTS WERE PARTIALLY CLOTHED AND THE FRONT RIGHT SEAT WAS IN THE FULL AFT RECLINING POSITION. NEITHER BODY SHOWED EVIDENCE OF SEATBELTS OR SHOULDER HARNESSES BEING WORN. EXAMINATION OF THE INDIVIDUALS' CLOTHING REVEALED NO EVIDENCE OF RIPPING OR DISTRESS TO THE ZIPPERS AND BELTS.

Probable Cause: THE PILOT IN COMMAND'S IMPROPER INFLIGHT DECISION TO DIVERT HER ATTENTION TO OTHER ACTIVITIES NOT RELATED TO THE CONDUCT OF THE FLIGHT. CONTRIBUTING TO THE ACCIDENT WAS THE EXCEEDING OF THE DESIGN LIMITS OF THE AIRPLANE LEADING TO A WING FAILURE.

It was mentioned on stream that Georgian food was really good, so I looked up some of it and made Kharcho. It's like a Slav beef stew and the Slav grocery store is the best one I go to so they had most of the stuff for it.

Over all pretty solid. I think I added too much dill though but I got used to it pretty quick. Taste as you go folks. Would recommend.

Look, as the guy watching you speed up, it is a fucking pain having you try to merge right behind me when I haven't the faintest clue if you're paying attention or not. I assume you're an asshole trying to merge in front of me.

Best case scenario, I get into the left lane so there are no issues, or depending on which vehicle I'm in I'll speed up a bit to give you extra room, but sometimes that's not possible and it's better to just slow down for the merging car.

Fuck your etiquette, I'm taking the option that might annoy the fuck out of you, myself, and people behind me, but reduces the chances of being in a wreck.

I have learned that when you're in a situation the key is to do the maneuver that does NOT require anyone else to act.

Late as hell to "based movie" discussion, but the closest thing you're going to get to an intentionally based movie is either Frailty or Vigilante.

In terms of unintentionally based movies, there's Tropa de Elite where they were trying to say "police brutality bad" but ended up making a very convincing argument for executing drug dealers.

Finally, in the insane fedposting realm is Savior, a mostly forgotten 90s movie where the protagonist played by Dennis Quaid of all people goes full Brenton Tarrant in the first 15 minutes.

The only clip on Youtube I could find of this is in 240p potato vision and has the appropriate title: Savior 1998 scene Joshua Guy shoot muslim people and Legion training

...doesn't that mean you'll be fucked if they go against your expectations and... act?
Yes, if I'm merging and planning to go behind a car and the idiot on the freeway slows down then I'm fucked. Do I slow down more? Or gun it and go in front of them? Or simply match their speed and slam into the side of their car for being dumb?

Personally I usually slow down more. But I'd rather do number 3 most of the time.
I'd rather be behind them so when I go to pass them 2.3 seconds later I know where they are.
