This thing has been a problem with streamer/yt channel "networks" in general since those started being a thing long before vtubers were. There was an interesting video I saw a few years back covering the collapse of one of the non japan non vtuber ones I can't remember the name of right now. They had a ton of minecraft lets play guys tied in there. Anyways shit like machinima is another good example of one that pulled some bullshit and eventually died. I can't remember if it was this exact same "you can't use your old username and have to delete all your pre existing stuff because we own that no we're not going to do anything with it though" shit but once again others did the same BS. Fucking hate that shit in general and never stopped hating it even if there's anime avi japanese people getting fucked by it.
