I’m not usually crazy about AI music or fan remixes but when it’s used to remaster or complete music it’s amazing.

Recently Peter Jackson’s company WingNut created an AI that can separate out individual tracks out of a mix which they’ve been utilizing for remixing/remastering the Beatles catalog. Definitely check it out.

Wasn't the Beach Boys drummer friends with Charles Manson? Sorry I'm not too in the loop when it comes to them, most of my exposure to them comes from my grandma, bless her heart. I do really like Kokomo though, good song.

Yeah, that was Dennis Wilson, who's the brother of singer Brian Wilson. Manson wrote a song with them but tried to worm his way into the band and the relationship soured so they cut him out of the record despite using the song he contributed (it's called "Never Learn Not to Love" on their "20/20" album and the lyrics are very transparently written by ol' Charlie Manson).

But unlike Miley Cyrus who fucking imploded, or Justin Beiber went from "guy you'd beat up in school" to "faggot weed dealer", Taylor Swift has ridden the normality curve, and the "character arc" of the stereotypical Millennial and X+ woman. When I go home, guess what's playing in the family car? It's Taylor Swift dragging like half an entire generation of women through the "ooooh edgy" phase of their musical taste. Aggressively shoved in the speaker and let rip. No. No Hedley, none of that shit you listened to but never played. Just Oh. Look what you made me do.

And why is it let rip without a second thought? Because it's the anthem of fucking normals. Because Taylor Swift has never lost her shit about something remotely weird once in her life. She's not sitting in the crowd with half her face painted screaming her voice off in a football game. No, she's sitting there, putting on a goofy phase, surrounded by her friends laughing about how silly it is or staring at their phone.




It's no different than when the popular kids in highschool buzzed the nerds trying to hand calculate an orbital transfer in KSP, or pestered the art club, or love bombed the weird girl, or graced a million other weirdo's with the feeling of being a side show attraction. It's the origin of that 4chan greentext that says women just hover around in orbit waiting to shit on men. It's every hobby that you think is cool as fuck but pursue in quiet because it's weird.

And even after you accept that maybe dad was right about calligraphy being gay and for faggots, and you realize the popular kids were just being their own kind of awkward, Swift has continued to sit there, like some giant black hole of normalness.. Too normie even for fucking football. The uncanny valley of personality existing only to contrast itself to the strangeness of the other.
