A friend of a friend had one, super well trained, loved his daughter. She was about five or six at the park with the dog and some shitty ankle-biting chihuahua started trying to nip her and the Rott just put its head in its mouth and went crunch.

The language is, astroturfed. But I disagree. It is normie psychology. It comes from a twofold vector. The first is just basic necessary agreeableness. People go about their daily life scared of changes to the status quo. So when people come and say others are making problems for them, there is a basic instinct to hear them out and give sympathy and support. The second is a sense of learned helplessness and fear, they just beg that nothing happens to them, so when people come along and say that life and society are fucked and they need to make drastic changes in order to course correct, they will likely react with flight or fight. As in either leave the situation or fight to stop their lives from being changed.

I thought it was called BreadTube cause they had basic bitch takes and we’re like the white bread of YouTube content, filling for people that don’t know anything better and without any actual substance.

Either way, today was a nice show, the anisa bit only made me want to throw up a little.

The article starts on the concentrated power of the editors, then goes on about paid editors, corporate PR shills, bad sourcing, and the infamous Watched pages. Some of the examples are pretty bad:

Some years back, famed author Philip Roth tried to correct a major fact error on a Wikipedia page that cited the inspiration behind one of his book characters. It was wrong. But every time Roth corrected the information, anonymous Wikipedia editors kept reverting it back to the false information.

When Roth finally reached a person at Wikipedia (which is beyond the capability of most mortals), he says he pleaded the case that he ought to know what was the inspiration behind his own book characters. That’s when he says they told him that he was simply “not considered a credible source—on himself.”

It interviews a couple of guys who get paid to correct misinformation on Wikipedia. They don't just get banned, they get outright doxed and IP traced based on where they have family.

When I interviewed Kohs, he saw himself as a sort of equalizer. He had a business helping clients, including supposed victims of unfair Wikipedia edits, navigate Wikipedia's unbridled landscape.

Like Wood, Wikipedia banned him for violating the policy against paid editing. When Kohs criticized the policy and continued under a borrowed account, Wikipedia editors also targeted him.

These Wikipedia editors went to great lengths to track him, using inside information and computer IP addresses. They researched where Kohs grew up, and traced his movements all the way to Orlando, Florida, where he was making edits while on vacation for Thanksgiving.

Kohs only discovered that Wikipedia editors were tracking him because somebody leaked documents showing internal Wikipedia discussions about him. One of those documents read, “looks like someone went home for Thanksgiving to visit mom and dad.”

The guy on this podcast seems to visit that site a lot and feature it in his podcast, maybe.

Maybe he could get the guy that runs the site to add something to the site that post-processes images, maybe like offering optional more-compression or downscaled or something images.

Or even thumbnails large images by default when added to a post.
