"Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

I still think KF should always exist on the Internet. But, should KF be amplified by Google or other search engines?

The answer is no. This is one of the reasons:

"Caroline Farrow / CF_Farrow / CaroWithTheGoodHair / BlondPidge - Catholic priest f*ck*r/Banned from the US for pissing off trannies on the internet/Slavishly supports the Catholic church/Drama queen/Emotional diarrhea"

KF should remain poorly indexed by Google. Period.

also I really can't get the mic to the point where it's LOUD enough for LOUD ENJOYERS who need things VERY LOUD while also not picking up every sound in my fucking room

The answer is yes. This is one of the reasons:
I don't know who you are or what your malfunction is but why are you pretending to be a normal person and fan of my podcast while also being absolutely obsessed with caroline farrow? are you some sort of freak tranny? you write like you have fucking brain damage but if you are trying weaponize this thread for whatever gay retard bullshit you're up to you can fuck off

Same, I thought everyone was fucking with him. It cut out a couple times but once I switched from rumble to odysee everything was fine.
I thought he was quieter than normal and just put it down to being a bit far back off the mic and mumbling (trying to solve some tech problem) rather than “presenting”.

I didn’t complain btw I just turned my volume up.

Rumble seems to send all their audio out at a low level. Every Rumble channel has this problem. Really hard to listen to Rumble in the car. I have to pipe it through VLC so I can use its volume boost.

Personally, I don’t really care about background noise. I think the chat was right about how quiet you are. I also always need to max my volume when listening to your podcast.

also, as discussed previously, my setup is the very memetic Sm7b (-59db) + Cloudlifter CL-1 preamp (+25Db) + FocusRite 2i2 3rd Gen (which has a 48V button I need on to register any sound). I observe that my peak is -6Db, which is fine for most people. If I should change anything or do a +6 OBS gain let me know but right now I use raw input after the LAST spack attack where people complained my audio was off.

I honestly fucking hate dealing with it, my setup changes all the time, I do not have an office, I have moved three times in the last year, and I hate fucking with it every single fucking stream and then get told that my setup is wrong by dozens of people who then also seem to find it amusing that I get annoyed dealing with this fucking bullshit continuously.

Relax Josh.

Everything is cool. KF is still online.

I think your main problem is your retarded staff.

Now, do you deserve to be amplified? Either get wiser or get someone smart to edit your posts.

Dealing with audio issues is such a pain in the ass it's almost worse than cable management because you can't actually see the issues. Especially now where half of the things that get plugged into the PC has a microphone attached to it and Windows sees a new audio input source and automatically thinks that the new thing that got plugged in is trying to be the default.

Though I have no idea why people are complaining about things being too quiet or too loud now. It USED to be much quieter and sometimes it was an issue for me but that's a personal problem because my deaf ass has been cranking headphones to max level since I was using CD walkman devices. If anything, I'd rather have things be too loud so I can just turn the volume down instead of it being too quiet where I can't hear things even when volume is up.

Either they're trolling or their ears are retarded.

The honest answer is you are never going to have consistent audio. No streamer does. Every OS and every broadcasting software suite fucks with sound constantly, sometimes at the hardware level. It is an unsolved problem in computer science, for more retarded reasons than other problems, but still unsolved.

It's not going to be fixed once you have a stable setup, that will just make the random changes more mysterious. Your current constantly changing setup is a mere multiplier of the chaos, not its source.

The only "solution" I've seen work for other streamers is to get a better monitoring system so you can detect it better and earlier. That can be something as crude as having your own stream up in another window/phone to check, running a separate streaming computer with displayed audio levels, or some fancier software setup solution that shows an objective level somehow. (I've heard of some streamers getting autistic about levels and pulling that off, but have no clue how.)

"Late, muted, and gay" is a meme because all three are constants in streaming. You can only fight against 2 at a time.

It was quiet for me using the mobile rumble app and open headphones. I had the volume maxed to hear over background noise. Maybe it's my fault for watching the stream in a bar

The instrumental you played on yesterday (specifically the piano part) sounds similar to the piano part of Meet The Grahams by Kendrick Lamar

I do think a lot of the accidental muting and audio level problems (with streamers in general, not just Josh) could be easily solved with the same method used in a real radio studio: an easily visible VU level meter and master gain control. Not something hidden away in a software window in the background, a physical, 11-LED bar graph or dial meters. Like on a mixing desk or stuck on the side of the monitor or something.
This would always be in your vision and reminds you to be the right distance from the mic and will immediately be obvious if you’re muted or what you’re trying to play isn’t faded up.

Edit: there you go, it exists, a $50 gadget.
