I feel Null’s review of ISOM TOO was detailed and interesting- if nothing else, he can do “review for hire” as he spent more time on it than many things I’ve looked at.

Kinda tempted to send him a comic book to review along with a fat check hehehehe

But down that path lies mangamadness

That's wild lol. It wasn't until reading this thread that I learned people unironically say it "apple-atchen". I grew up always knowing the SHian.

Then again, I also didn't know "Dash-Hound" was just butchered Dachshund for far, far longer than I care to admit. I thought people called them Dash Hounds because their little legs dash all around. I thought the dog had 3 names: Dachshund, Weiner Dog, Dash Hound.

Also didn't know it was Prima Donna and not Pre-Madonna since I've never known a world without Madonna. Assumed it ment prissy and sassy because when Madonna came in things became edgy.

I've learned a lot lmao

I found an animation channel that gives me serious PilotRedSun vibes. Though the subject matter is game-oriented the animation and surreal-ness of it is great if you like PilotRedSun

Never made this connection before, but that makes sense. WV is mostly Eyetalian-Yankee ancestry: split from Virginia to fight for the North, and there was a lot of Italian immigrants working the mines.

The original settlers were Scotch, Welsh, and Irish. Most West Virginians use -latch-in but people from the tristate area don't, so -lay-shin is acceptable for out of towners. The vast majority of hard-to-pronounce stuff comes from the native Indians. Most of the tribes in the Kanawha valley assimilated with poor whitey so white European and native culture are heavily intertwined there. Speaking of, Kanawha is one that I've never heard an outsider pronounce correctly. Most people say Can-aw-wuh, but it's Kuh-naw.

A lot of the Italian presence there aren't the original settlers. The Italian food is fucking primo, though. Check out Joe Fazio's in Charleston if you're in the area. The manicotti is on point.

Anyone else just feeling depressed listening to the last couple MATI episodes? Instead of laughing at retarded people I just feel upset and hopeless listening to how fucked things are. I know the news coverage isn't a new thing it's just something that stood out to me idk. Maybe I need a break.
