Fibre to the home is like having a data centre grade connection of the late 90s all to yourself. Starlink is just magical, Josh has been a bit unlucky there.

Nothing wrong with aiming higher, I'm just being realistic, trade life sucks, you work long hours, your pay like shit, and your lucky if your body will hold out until retirement.
I actually think maybe PLC role would be better, it's similar to stuff he does now and it's pretty lucrative right now, especially since alot companies are trying to automate alot of their equipment.

programming does not require a high intelligence. if you're developing emergent software that requires novel approaches to handling information, then yes it does, but if you're setting up an e-commerce wordpress site for grandma's bakery then it does not. high level programming is about as sophisticated as ikea furniture.

what makes trannies so adept at this is that they're brain dead midwits on SSRIs and adderall that can spend 40 hours swapping between goon seshes and programming seshes and be more productive than any normal person.

Broadband as a utility is how it's viewed in the US, and once the utility is installed the fiber is basically infinitely upgradable. So what do they do with that utility to keep making money?

Go hard on tack-on services. You want better filtering for your kid to maybe not see porn? Subscribe to Blahfilter like our marketing department told you! You want live TV? You want The Nigga Channel? You want home automation? You want reliable wifi?

All of these are opportunities to be monetized. It's a data center connection for sure, but it's also a direct line to consumerbux.
