Pirate software has been throwing a shitfit about it too and responding in the worst ways imaginable which is making a lot of people not like him even more.
He deleted the tweet earlier because people were rightfully calling him out for not taking any responsibility and trying to paint Ross poorly while making himself look like the victim.

In fact after Pirate Software called him a used car salesman and insulted his campaign, Ross reached out to try and find out what was wrong with it and try to pave a path forward with the great game dev guru pirate software.

Who then got really mad, removed his comment from his video and said he would, "NEVER - EVER" work with him...
Because, ???

Also you should also consider offering to interview Ross. He seems pretty open to talking to people until the 31st of July(when the chance to get signatures ends). I think an hour or two talking about how shit copyright law is or something would be a pretty good segment, and give some mutual publicity for USIPS and the "stop killing games" initiative.

Oh yeah. I ended up seeing later after I had posted this. Ethan Ralph specifically said on Twitter he wasn't watching. Idk if it's because people noticed this name in the chat. Or what. But idk I choose to believe the account with the same name as his alt is him. Until proven otherwise.

Josh and Ross would do such a great monthly podcast together. Spend a couple hours talking about laws they are fighting in regards to preserving the internet and games.

As a supporter of both, I really need them to talk at least once, there is a really good overlap in their interest, audiences and morals despite being in very different sectors of the internet.

as someone who's paid for a few mentorships from local academic live figure classes. and has an art degree

His comparison of artists learning being comparable to AI is like an alien with no eyes trying to describe how shapes relate to composition.
this is like saying there's no difference between someone playing a video game, and someone watching a lets play and saying they had the same experience.
every creative medium has a interactive aspect to it. the only way to recreate something without tracing or some very specific toolset that requires some real world setup like Sight Size method.
is to already have a solid grasp of fundamentals, (lighting, perspective, composition, how to draw 3d shapes on a 2d plane, understanding the limitations of this) and that's only for real world subjects with the goal of just drawing an ""accurate"" representation of what's in front of you.

there's a even deeper set of tools and way more thinking that has to be involved if you're trying to Recreate an art style or intentionally omit specific aspects to push an idea to make something more interesting to look at. (better than real. an elephant with blue eyes) and everything I mentioned here is all happening all at once. it's like you're playing a game and deciding what build you want and already thinking how you're going to beat the boss while you're still at the start screen.

Grummz speaking like that is part of the "I don't care about anything," mentality.
and it devalues the medium far worse than a tool like AI.
