I have watched this movie a lot. On the surface, it is a fucked movie to watch because hurrhurr fucked up edgy college kid and at the other end of the spectrum it could have some critical critiques about the Serbian government and how it rapes you to death from birth to death. But it's such an out and wild piece of work, you have to meet or talk to the most fucked up of people to even broach the topic. Funny enough, while the film leaned heavy on the ex-porn star (Mr washed up but well off) it never heavy handed the pedophilia elements. The pedo elements were always a cog in the machine. Not really the main force, until the ending.
But again the ending was basically saying 'you will be fucked from start to end'.
It was fucked up mostly because the main guy had been drugged and didn't remember anything, maybe analogous to your 20's? And trying to recover what happened. I.e. what happened during my college years? The realization 'oh I remember and I'm not a good person'. Followed with 'I won't bring this into my next life' kind of thing. So you exit yourself\kid\wife, but the govt still fucks you in the afterlife.

One thing I never heard discussed much, and I don't know if it ever was, but did the director or anyone related touch on the topic of how the movie criticizes the porn industry? If I remember right the movie came out right around the boom of the porn industry becoming mainstream and the whole plot is an evil porn director wanting to go bigger and bigger with countless victims and the most abhorrent shit imaginable. The main character is also only there because he needed money and it ended up killing everyone he loved.

I never heard anything of the porn industry directly. More of the socieo economic factors that leads the people into the porn industry. The porn industry in the movie was the face of the govt (obviously) but I heard it discussed of more like the govt running people to do things they didn't want to because they needed the money.

Probably, it's modern tech so it's designed to be fucked in one way or another, Just today I needed a USB-C cable for a portable monitor, yet none of the cables I immediately had on hand worked. Turns out I needed one specially blessed by the Pope to support video out, not that one could tell though. After digging through the cable box trying every USB-C cable I could find I eventually got one that worked but it was fucking annoying. How am I meant to remember which cable does what? I thought USB-C was meant to simplify this, but it just turned it into a stupid game of lucky dip. Some are charge only, some support data but are slow, some are fast, some support video. At least when they all had different plugs you could tell what it did by the plug type.
 
The problem with USB-C in this regard is how they put a ton of stuff on a single port standard, so you can have cheaply made cables that are good for 1 gpbs data only and can't support power or throughput for whatever you're trying to do.
I've gotten some really good 200W USB-C cables from UGREEN that have lasted almost 10 years so far with hardly any wear so far.
The fact the cables are not labeled with how much power they can support and only indicate with a chip in one of the connectors doesn't help.

It's a very open standard though, there's not any more fuckery than the USB 3.0 standard. Any fucker that does happens is a matter of the devices using the standard, which is just the same trouble as any other standard.

Also anyone who calls USB-C flimsy clearly doesn't remember microUSB.

Getting sued by Fatrick will cause you to hate him among other things. I don't really hate him though I just find him and the stuff he writes down funny.
