It's got amazing atmosphere and storytelling, but the heavy child nudity and freak ass fetish shit make it hard for me to shake the pedobait, the "harsh world-building" cope is such bullshit too. So obvious it was just made by a sick Jap.

Never watched it. I felt it necessary to actually find the post where you wrote what I've claimed, otherwise it'd just be a "trust me bro" type of thing.
But I did go to the Wikipedia page and it will apparently have a Western live-action adaptation, which will be...interesting to see, considering everything written about it in this thread.

Two things here. First, I have not watched made in abyss and I couldn't give less of a fuck about it. Second, when you say "millions of anime fans" you're being disingenuous, because the vast majority of them are Japanese, living in a culture more pedo-heavy than US culture (or even European sans France) culture. For them 99% of the content they consume is centered around high schoolers or younger. I don't care for the reasons this is the case, but I'm pointing it out and if you think it isn't at least slightly weird I have some bad news for you.
Even some of the actually in my opinion decent anime that I have indeed watched, like Girls' Last Tour, cannot stop their Japanese-borne autism and childify characters, at least visually if not psychologically.

It's far too engrained in their culture, simple possession of cp wasn't even illegal until 2014.
 
People with anime pfp need to be sent to the FEMA camps alongside the somalis and other scum, the fact they are always consistently retarded indicates something is up and thus must be subjected to mengele-esque type experiments so we can find a cure to their retardation.

Masi Oka and Roy Lee were the people behind the Netflix adaptation of Death Note. Kevin McMullin has like two writing credits for shit nobody's ever heard of. So basically it'd be dogshit that has nearly no adherence to the source material, though that's probably for the better.
I have no idea why they'd even try it except because it's gotten decent popularity as far as the anime goes, which has already been run through a sander compared to the manga. It's not like Stranger Things where- oh.

Akihito Tsukushi said again and again during the Q&A (at least according to the translator) how much he loves children. It's not a thing in and of itself and is also okay as a reason why his MC children are. But considering the sexual portrayal (I've only seen volume 1 and episode 1 (from the panel) so far [I want to continue watching the series (and then the manga) with my boyfriend first.. but the time together..], which is already visible at the beginning and, according to some reviews, probably gets much stronger later on, "I love children" becomes argh.. uh... yes.. But when one of those present asked directly why he explicitly depicted the characters naked and did not censor them with "random" objects as usual,The first part of his answer was fine (something about him wanting to show what the characters see, well, fine by me), but after the translation, there was another emphatic "And I love children." Am I being too pessimistic when the pedophiles are raising alarm bells here at the latest? And I found it even more frightening when, in response to this extra emphatically added "I love children," a great many in the room cheered and clapped, some even stood up. Much, much more enthusiasm than with all the other answers.

IIRC it was illegal on a different level of illegality before that but that made it hard-line every stage illegal similar to how western pedos tried moving to japan because "age of consents 15!" shit only to find out it was still very illegal over there for adults to fuck 15 year olds. It does say something about things though that it took them a long time to get it banned on a sweeping federal level like that though.
