Sidewalks are dirty, dark, cracked, wet, uneven, full of bugs and dogshit, or nonexistent
Have to walk on grass sometimes when there's no sidewalk or you risk getting hit
Cars with bright as fuck headlights
Random crackheads bothering you
Stray dogs
People who don't fence in their dogs properly (mainly in rural areas)
Walking to the grocery store takes an hour

A walk from Montgomery, Alabama to Auburn, Alabama is 21 hours.
When I was living in the college town (not Auburn nor Tuscaloosa), I could walk around the campus and to the gas station/Waffle House. Walking to the store? hell no.

The average US country road will be more pedestrian friendly than the average global country road due to mandatory shoulders, and areas without these will lack them for safety reasons.

People get angry because it’s always rural Appalachian highways vs Parisian promenades. Theres as much clearance on a North Carolina switchback as there is on a major Korean underpass. It’s just a bizarre thing to fixate on

And no matter how nice the road is, it’ll still be too fucking far away to be walkable in the slightest.

Just because you live in some nigger infested Los-Angeles adjacent shithole isn't my problem.

I've lived in Europe, and stayed quite a while in the neighborhood my mother grew up in. It was just as walkable as your average middle class suburb with similar amenities and lack thereof of crackheads, stray dogs, or niggers. I walked to and from town every day with no issue.

Europeans touch down in shitholes like NY or LA and then think that's the entire fucking country, I swear.

you dont walk in america because shit is just far away.
the only city you might walk in in america is nyc because you can take the subway
even in other cities the have trains (chicago, nyc, boston) you dont take those because the trains are full of niggers and its easier/safer to just drive.
and nyc also people are taking ubers because they dont want to deal with the subway schizo niggers.

I just want to make something clear. I never said anything positive about walking or walking in America, I just said it was easy if you arent retarded or a pussy. Walking ANYWHERE sucks ass, Europe, Asia, Africa, the where doesnt matter. Walking is just horrible in general. So why people make a bigger deal about it being slightly harder certain places is beyond me. Theres a reason America is car-centric, its because walking just sucks as a whole. Thats why one of the biggest innovation after the advent of farming was the taming of riding animals. Do you know how hard it is to tame a wild horse? Thats how much walking sucked then and it hasn't gotten any better now, the location is irrelevant.
