"Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

for those wondering what the point of liveleak/ gore videos are, I personally find them very similar to horror movies.

I see bodyhorror as the root of all human fear, so, in my case at least, it’s like someone with arachnophobia becoming obsessed with spiders or the same feeling you get when you pick off a scab.

although there’s definitely people who just treat it as snuff.

Interesting analogy considering how the stream ended today.

I see your point, but modern horror movies in the West only relies on "creepy" music in otherwise not scary at all scenes.

Don't really know about how the Asian horror movies are nowadays, but folktales about spoopy shit from there is enough to make me paranoid.

I was thinking something closer to Cronenberg or even EraserHead, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a horror movie that made me feel anything but embarassed.

I remember Josh once put a deepfake of Jordan Peterson reading the "I want to fuck the Animal Crossing dog" copypasta, anybody remember which stream was or if the audio file exist archived here?
Edit: Nevermind found it, was on Bacon Satelites stream

Some citations to his opening rant about how DARE and anti-X education tends to have the opposite effect(reactance).

First the DARE education program to keep kids off drug:

The findings were grim: 20-year-olds who'd had DARE classes were no less likely to have smoked marijuana or cigarettes, drunk alcohol, used "illicit" drugs like cocaine or heroin, or caved in to peer pressure than kids who'd never been exposed to DARE. But that wasn't all. "Surprisingly," the article states, "DARE status in the sixth grade was negatively related to self-esteem at age 20, indicating that individuals who were exposed to DARE in the sixth grade had lower levels of self-esteem 10 years later." Another study, performed at the University of Illinois, suggests some high school seniors who'd been in DARE classes were more likely to use drugs than their non-DARE peers.

And in to relation to the comment about asian hate campaign in apex, we actually have a parallel with an anti-racism campaign in Europe

In 1997 the Council of Europe coordinated a year of anti-racism campaigns and activities throughout Europe. A survey at the end of the year, conducted in European Union countries by the polling organisation Eurobarometer, found that rather than a decline in racism, it had been marked by a growing willingness on the part of Europeans to openly declare themselves as racist.

So if you want to end drug use and racism, perhaps the best system would be to have hooded Klansmen shootup heroin in elementary classrooms and talk about how cool it is while unrelentingly speaking racial epitaphs. They should also be a playable character in Apex.

We had DARE in elementary school, it was done by a cop everywhere right that's who it was where. I would go so far as to say that DARE was almost pro-weed. Like, not only did they say that everyone smoked weed all the time - but, they basically told us that the only negative thing about it was that it was illegal. Honestly thought, my impression is that hard drug use is very common among adults. I have a huge sampling bias from that though because as a strip mall lawyer I deal with people coming in with possession charges all the time, and my area was absolutely devastated by both meth and opiates.

Josh, as far as your peas go. if you just drape some netting over your peas and weight the edges down that should be enough to keep the birds off your veggies. They will eat your precious banana peppers too. Birds love peppers.
