This is just terrible, Madonna used to be iconic (and certain eras still are imo) and now she’s turned into a grotesque desperate caricature of herself and it’s so embarrassing. I’m mortified for her.

You can join the AARP ma’am, you’re not a IG baddie with an adidas tracksuit and chains and grills and a lace hood.

It would have been so much better for her legacy if something tragic had happened 15-20 years ago.

Well, pop stars are just performers, they don't do shit on their own, so artistically they are only as good as the people managing them and making the creative decissions, they can't be extremely retarded and still be lifted by other professionals to make them look like they are not. I can't imagine an aging Madonna still pulls the same musical and artistic talent as she did between the 80s and early 00s. She's been replaced since, several times over, the new Madonna is Billie Eillish or something.

There are plenty of people who have been in pop music with talent and vision who were true musicians, performers, writers and singers (because those four things are all different talents). It's just less and less of a thing now. More things are outsourced: writing lyrics, writing music, styling. There are a few people around who seem to mostly do the work for themselves but they're the exception rather than the rule.

You get people like Beyonce who are amazing performers but aren't really strong singers. She can't write (although she steals from people and changes a few words to get credit for lyrics), and she's not a musician. She was trained to be a performer and that's what she is. I know a lot of people will die on the hill that Beyonce is an amazing artist and can sing exceptionally well but I do not agree.

A lot of people have one or two of those things going but rarely have them all. That's easier to cover up in a band but for solo artists their shortcomings are painfully evident. Madonna was never a real musician, a strong singer, or an amazing writer. She can (could) dance really well and had a great look at one point, but she no longer has the ability to dance like she used to and she ruined her look trying to chase 21 forever.
 
Watched the music video for Bad Girls earlier. It's insane just how far she's fallen.
