This poem has been set to music many times before her. I actually think Phil Oches did it far better.

That's definitely a good song and I like that style of music but I think it's unfair to both artists to compare their rendition to the other ones. The appeal in McKennitt's version to me is how she pulls a lot of emotion and drama of it and builds up to that urgency, sorrow and then the rage.

Wayfaring Stranger is a song that's been recorded a million times and that one's much easier to use when comparing artists. If an artist or band have recorded it it can be used as a standardized benchmark to get a feel for their style and sound. If you feel lukewarm about their Wayfaring Stranger you might feel the same way about the rest of their music, if it is pop-country shit everything else will be pop-country shit, if you really like it then that's a very good sign.

Damn what happened to her? Oh that's right the 80s ended and she got old like everybody else has and or will someday. I guess its true call me boomer all you want but everything was better in the 80s.

And I wasn't even born in the 80s.

>nickname89
>not actually born in 89
wow you are a mean liar :(

It's really uncanny since some parts of her look 61 but others look much younger than that since it's all plastic.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's some kind of horror monster that has this exact premise, god damn.

The hands and neck always give the plastic surgery addicts away.

Tales from the Crypt had an episode with that premise. A rich old man is trying to get this young bimbo to fall for him. So he gets all these transplants from a young guy resulting in him becoming a frankengeezer. But he spent his whole fortune on this and the young guy with his old man body is now rich from selling off his parts. So guess who bimbo goes off with?

They should remake this episode with Madonna. It would be glorious.

It looks like she already bought and transplanted Iggy Pop's arms and hands to herself.
