Doesn't fit in a deck constructed deck though. The reason Beanstalk was good was the floor on it was a 2 mana cantrip for slow grindy decks that threatened drawing more cards unless you had specific interaction for enchants. Putting this in a slow grindy deck just gives them a target for the creature removal they drew game 1 and can only safely block 1 power. I think even if you're in a grindy standard overlord/warp deck already this doesn't make the cut, if you want more 1 for 1s fill this slot with 1-2 mana removal and you're going to be much happier. I might see this being playable in a reanimator deck but even then not really excited for ways to pitch cards that my opponent has a full turn cycle to think about.Don't care if it is less powerful we just had to ban this style of effect out of a bunch of formats and they know people can understand a more complex version of how this is supposed to work because we have expend.
They wont stop printing cards that dick around with mana costs so they really need to stop printing cards like this
Thinking about it, there's some chance this is playable in pauper along side Tolerian Terror but I think it's too slow and fragile for pauper too.
