I play Binding of the Old Gods in Commander (destroy permanent then get a surveil land is super good)

Totally unplayable in 60 Card formats...because its more than 3 mana.
I think it saw play in Sultai Ultimatum, I know I played it in some control ramp deck that won the game with druid class and/or cultivator colossus that was fun and marginally successful until Alrund's got banned (something like this).

It does beg the question of when they'll do Eldrazi. I assumed it would be next after Phyrexia being dealt with, but if they did Bolas first it'd be pretty dishonest. Mind you I do not care for Eldrazi, yet they probably won't because they've been banking on these side non-canon sets like Commander Horizons and Modern Horizons 3. Why do anything with the older narrative build up when you can just print any card you want free from writing? Even worse now is that they can do this with Universes Beyond which has been revolting.

Regardless, if they do Bolas first, it'll suck because they refuse to kill characters. War of the Spark had a chance to mirror Infinity War at Marvel's peak popularity and we got a planeswalker kill count of like 3. If they do Eldrazi, they need to revisit lore that's over a decade old and inevitably written by a (likely) less gay tranny writing team. Either way, we're getting something that will look potentially interesting on paper like many of their (in world) sets, but they just cannot help themselves and fuck it up.
If they do Eldrazi that means they have to release Emrakul and that means Innistrad has to die and that will never...EVER fucking happen because Innistrad is a popular plane.

Yeah, but one more mana for a removal spell probably makes Galactus Unplayable Especially in the current even more pushed standard. I do like "Removal Saga that gives little bits of Value" in general though. I ran Elspeth Conquers Death in my White Decks In EDH for years until they printed Stroke of Midnight/Get Lost.

Someone told me that the side effect of Jace's compleat reversion is he sometimes turn into furry. Is this true chat?

Does this count?

I just hope he will do a better job this time around.
He was winning until Liliana decided to do white woman things

Jace: BAM, you're free!
Jace technically had nothing to do with it, he was there trying to steal Ugin's Gem of Becoming to use it to reset the universe.
Elspeth and Narset showed up on their own and Elspeth just blurted out Nicol Bolas' name despite Ugin asking them to GTFO.

Edit : I started the first story of Lorwyn Eclipsed and I want to fucking kill myself 10 minutes in and I hope the Students fucking DIE.

Don't worry it'll be depicted in the next Modern Masters or Foundations.
Still pretty ridiculous that it wasn't in the set.

I am through parts 1 and 2 of the story. Its so convenient that we have exactly one member of each house in our group.

One of the students is deaf, and one is a non binary vampire.

Oh and the reader is doing voices, and she made Liliana sound like an old karen who is about to rage about her coupon being expired

This sounds like a story written by women who have never read anything more sophisticated than YA slop. Given that Strixhaven is just Harry Potter Fanfiction: The Set, I guess this tracks.

RIP Lorwyn, we'll always remember you in your prime.

You know it's bad when the non crossover sets are still crossovers. They've been struggling extra hard to come up with good new ideas lately. Bloomburrow being the exception. Sets like Tarkir and LCI were good but not new.
OTJ, DSK, MKM, and DFT (the "hat" sets) were all major wasted potential or weren't good enough ideas to be worth pursuing in the first place.
I hope the set won't be dogshit but the story is looking dire. Par for the course, sadly.

2 Mythic Rares with unusable evoke abilities

DFC Slop Mythic Rare.

White Mythic Rare that is unplayable because it's sorcery speed so can't be used in response to a board wipe or a killing attack.

Only good Mythic Rare so far is a Flash Threat in the standard with Tishana's Tidebinder and Floodpits drowner and Enduring Curiosity.

I've heard Bloomburrow is very similar to the series Redwall, so it might be able to be considered a "hat" set, though at least a good one.

Looking at the Marvel cards, I don't think its going to be ignorable like Spider-Man. Namor seems quite good for Merfolk, and Captain America is a leyline of sanctity that leaves you with a 3/2 if it gets removed. Who knows, they might even push stuff more because of Spider-Man's failure.

Is everything just a keyword now?

Why are -1/-1 counters a keyword? And then they put reminder text...just dont keyword it. Just put the text like they did in Scars block. Keywording shit confuses new players. And then you put the reminder text...which defeats the point of keywording
Well it seems like Blight X lets the opponent choose where the -1/-1 counter goes. It’ll probably be a set mechanic so prepare to see it a lot (hence the keywording)

It’ll also probably be a shitty mechanic. Or very fun. Or both! I have a feeling letting your opponent choose where it goes, while interesting and fun on paper, will just be underwhelming to a massive degree.

Bloomburrow is definitely a hat set, they just chose something a little more respectable to rip off. I do think it's the best set of 2024 though.

I...don't think Hooves work this way.
Elf legs in Lorwyn have always been a little inconsistent but this one does look particularly egregious.

In the before times before we had 30 sets in Standard all at the same time I could see this being almost too good if there were enough other elves to play it with.

Edit : *Screams in pain* The 41% bound vampire gets captured by an elf and while the elf is taking HIS PRIOSONER to his leader The vampire complains about it's feet hurting despite being A FUCKING VAMPIRE....and talks about Shoes......

Edit 2: THAT IS SOMEHOW NOT THE WORST PART The elf tells his boss..

"I haven't gotten the truth out of the prisoner because MY EARS ARE NOT PERFECT ENOUGH TO HEAR THE TRUTH"

Yknow, now that you say this, it makes me realize. Whenever they spoil a single rare/legendary creature card, it’s always either ballbustingly strong or hilariously weak. Looking at the mechanic, and knowing the setting… draft might be a little painful?

I support the fat ass elf and her genocide of the Strixhaven students. Also fat ass elf will proliferate planeswalkers and poison counters.

Saar, do not redeem the feet pics.

She is in the story and while her dialogue is not the worst part of the story, hearing her talk is going to kill your boner.

Also..her grand plan is to murder The Night Elemental so that it can't make things night anymore because the apparent natural state of the day/night cycle of the plane is based entirely on the whims of Elemental Beasts.
