I played paper magic for 4 years across half a dozen stores and only saw 3 actual women. One was a little girl about 15 on Infect who stuck with her twin brother, never made eye contact or spoke to anyone, one was a chubby sperg with a Hydra stompy who 0-5'd twice and didn't come back, and the last was some bossy Asian on Izzet Phoenix whose boyfriend hovered over all her matches running his fingers through her hair. Every LGS had a resident sassy troglodyte troon in a wig though

The idea of bringing in normie girls to this world seems like a fools errand.

Yes. Cards games attracts spergs. Spergs also like women, and almost never have something in common with them. Attract women to play MtG and more spergs will buy cards.
exactly, but we also need to fucking get rid of the creeps and shit. I don't understand why it is a big deal for some of these weirdos that females play MTG. Dare I say the diversity of having actual female players will add another level to the game. When I say Diversity I mean different deck techs and playstyles, the sweaty games of mtg I play in like standard and shit suck and I would like more opponents to get better.

Most creeps exists because they don't know how to interact with women. The only effective way to get rid of them is to ensure them a way to fight their traumas with women and their crippling porn addictions. Only politics on a global scale can really achieve this. And even then, some will be unredeemable.

I'm not sure about that. Female-oriented cards will change the flavor of the sets, but the game won't fundamentally change I think.

I think with a more diverse group of people playing rather then tryhards and troons it will change especially. Since I've started going back to my local LGS after not playing MTG for a couple of years I have seen the same like 3 play patterns. I play some standard and I get it there's metadecks that work better then everything else. But with more people we will get more ideas and more decks. TLDR here is my point is I'm sick of playing the same 5 tryhards that all run the same fucking deck.

Oh, ok. I can't really speak about that, I'm only playing when there's a prerelease or a draft haha

My LGS was kinda the same, it was ALWAYS the same group of people running their slightly different version of that rotations version of a control deck. They would ALWAYS get pissed off when I won against them with my aggro deck (I forced Gruul most of the time even if it was bad). Theyre the people doing Golos Field, or Simic Nexus, or Izzat Epiphany, or just UBx control.

Arena had an event one time where they banned the top 10 cards used once a week for this event that ran like 2 months - it was really fun. Still had a bit of a metagame established by the end of a week but at least people had to be on their toes. Was insanely fun, loved it.

Right now its kinda the same its 5 people playing reanimator and I do monowhite tokens and I play a rest in piece and if they dont have the one sultai saga or whistfulness they just lose. I think one of the other players switched to the lessons or badgermole but I haven't played them yet. But I have enough sweepers in the deck where that should not be an issue.

The Cycle of the Graveyard has come for standard.

*Building Sideboard*
"Is Graveyard deck good?"
"No It went 0-10 the past 2 weeks" *Cut Graveyard hate
*Graveyard decks get to run rampant
*Build Sideboard next week*
"Is Graveyard Deck Good" "Yes"
*Put Graveyard Hate in Deck, Graveyard decks go 0-10*

Creeps outspend the normal customer at a store by factors of like seven-to-one, so for every creep you prohibit (as they will never change) you need to attract 7 people who will stick around. Normal people, women especially, are less likely to spend like retards into a recession - but creeps, who think social status comes from the cards they can buy (see: Quarterpounder), will take on credit and klarna and so-on to keep on buying. Stores are incentivized to alienate women, who will just buy decks or singles online, then play with groups where they can be 100% sure they will not have to tolerate Quarterpounders talking about their Walmart diarrhea dumps.

This makes the most sense to Wizards, and allows you to both have your cake and eat it, too. You cannot get women to be regulars in game stores, though, much less in competitive events.

The weird thing is, if you watch old tapes of older Magic events in the 90's and early 2000's a lot of them had a sizeable amount women in them. I actually first learned about MTG as a kid from a neighbour, their mom played it and liked the art on the cards. I think women just avoid playing at the LGS themselves, since there is about 4-5 women in my current tabletop game club who play it.

(although yes, sadly we have the mandatory token fat, ugly, sweaty tranny that people try and make excuses to not show up when they book a table)

"female focused" art is a myth, though and I can assure you most of them were rocking monsters or angels, no real inbetween. They love a lot of the same stuff the men do on the art, if not for different reasons.

A dude might like a shirtless minotaur dude with a big axe because unga bunga barbarian smash is cool
women like it because, well... I'm sure most of us have heard of Morning Glory Milk Farm

I know MANY women that love LotR, and other fantasy and have had plenty women in our local community when there was one, though most were brought into the game by their boyfriend/husband. I've actually had to scold highly autistic neckbeards before because "LOL you lost to a girl!". Magic currently lacks anything to actually draw women in, they like hot girls, I know a lot of women that love Marvel Rivals and that game is packed full of attractive female characters. The lore is shit, the characters are shit and game mechanics aren't something that will draw in the ladies. Pokemon has so many women fans, Magic also lacks any cute characters, Loot and the ugly bat thing from Arena's version of Spider-Man isn't going to do it.

In theory, I don't mind having women in the hobby but in execution it's been a mess. I would take a woman that knows how how to play the game and how to take a joke over a unwashed autist or a tranny any time, the problem is that in the pursuit of that, Wizards has entice the latter over the former with their dumb decisions and now we're in this gay status quo where no one is happy but everyone is pretending to be while gayshit is being push on their collectable cardboard.

Also yes, the autist spend a lot of money compare to women.

In my play group we just started playing 30$ Vintage (Vintage, but the total price of your deck can't be more than 30$; I don't know if this is a format popularized elsewhere) and I have to say, I'm having more fun brewing and playing it than I ever had with Commander. The 30$ limit does a far better job of keeping overpowered and degenerate strategies out of the game than Commander's singleton format, I think. Plus, playing with cheap (and bad) cards that aren't regularly used makes for a more interesting and varied gaming experience than just running a mix of the top recs off EDHrec.

Yeah I'm not saying it is a bad idea, I just can't see it happening. WOTC is pozzed af and already claims there are lots of "women" playing, but let's just say they put out a LaBubu set or some Y2K aesthetic that managed to entice normie girls to join, I can already see the cultural clash should they enter any of the FNM around my area. The owners are sperg creeps, the regulars are antisocial weirdos, and everyone netdecks. I would go twice a week, every week, but it eventually even wore me down.

Nothing will ever top getting given thousands of bulk cards by someone quitting, meeting up with my friend who grew up with magic, slapping together the jankiest rubbish ever conceived, smoking weed drinking coffee and duelling until the sun came up.
