I think it's a good idea on principal of readability and expanding the userbase but if that many are exclusive to one thread, they're not going to join the larger forum culture or support the site. You're also then asking Null to pick jannies to sweep it from a pool of users doesn't know and has contempt for. If they spilled into other threads, a containment sub would be good. But if they keep it in their thead then whatever.

This is pretty much what I've been thinking too.

I want the userbase of this site to expand like it did when after GoldenKnight we decided to cover people besides Chris which is why I proposed a sub-forum for them.

But at the same time, it would create more work for the site owners, and they might not pay monies to Null so he can't get more chicken tendies.

If it would help the site then I see no reason why not but if they won't then no reason why to do so.

Out of curiosity, but is it actually possible to cordon off part of Kiwifarms behind a paywall? If the vtuber fans really wanted their own little micro-community on the Farms - their own private hugbox for them to gush about their favourite vtubers - does the site actually allow for one sub-forum to be invite-only?

Say if they paid a $10 monthly subscription to the MATI Gumroad account, they'd then get permission to post in that private forum for the duration of their subscription - so long as they followed the Terms and Conditions (no suggestive images of anime children; and any other rule you'd want to apply) that is, otherwise it's a cancellation of their exclusive membership.

Would you even want to go down that road?

I did not think there would be that much interest in VTubers on KF. But I decided to check out the Virtual Youtubers thread and it has over 6k pages. That is extremally good engagement.

Would love to have a vtuber board not out of caring what a vtuber is or their community. Somehow these people made Flamenco (Mister Metokur's make-a-wish kid) into King of /pol/ and can't help myself but laugh at these retards. Doubt they would get a board when the newest boards community boards for America First and Bella had many problems. Bella's board already closed, AF's is dead and the IP2 thread slowed down so much from users' and cows' drama making requests for an IP2 useless.

While I do like lurking in the Main Vtuber Thread, it is notable for being a massive outlier in the scope of the site. Normal threads document the ridiculous activities of their subject while the vtuber thread just documents activities which consist mainly of streams and maybe some song releases. The discussion of the talent behind the vtubers that is considered the main draw of the thread over other places like Reddit, but I don't think it goes on that frequently even if it is allowed.

The Vtuber Lunacy thread is much more in line with the usual thread of making fun of retarded people doing stupid shit, but that thread is not as populated due to there being relatively few Vtubers doing stuff that qualifies for it.

I do not think that the vtuber shit needs a subforum, if only because of how out of line its discussion is with the rest of the site. Maybe facts could change, shit could go crazy, and the main thread could be more f retarded people doing stupid shit but for now keeping them locked in one thread is fine.
