Honestly when ever a nog gets clipped by a cop they need to release the body cam footage ASAP otherwise the riots will happen (they will probably happen anyways) but at least that way some of the protesters/rioters will not attend and would cut down on the intensity of the riot because the footage will show the black dude being in the wrong. It will also cut down on the people who think the footage is doctored because it took a couple days for the police to "doctor" the footage. Most of all we get to see early access footage of a criminal getting capped instead of having to wait a day or two when interest of the event dies down.

I get the feeling that police version of events isn't going to be backed up by the body camera footage considering how long they're taking to release it.

When that guy committed suicide in front of the cops in Minneapolis the footage from the body camera was released within hours to calm the crowd. We're going on almost 24 hours later now with nothing but a couple of vague statements from the police.

Either way it's interesting how fast the governor called out the national guard for what seems like a crowd of a few hundred people when last summer tens of thousands of people burned down Minneapolis and he refused to do so calling them nothing but kids and cooks.

Was ruminating on that and how when Trump wanted to call in the national guard it was fascism and overreach, but when Biden wants to do it now its all fine and dandy

E: OK watching it she actually articulated the "Why", so it really sounds real. Much harder to add something in (rationale for peace) than to edit something out (riot in the suburbs instead). Good mom, sorry for immediately assuming she'd be like the Milwaukee sister.

I'd also point out how much smaller and localized the crowd is. There were a few hundred people out there tops and only in the neighborhood it happened in.

Six months ago even the rumor of a police shooting would set off near instant riots with tens of thousands of people in multiple big cities across the US where the shooting didn't even happen.

Like I said in a thread when Biden won 2020 that riots will slow down or be met with a quick effective response, blue states will now listen to Biden about cracking down on this type of thing where they ignored it to make Trump look bad. At the end of the day we get to see more skulls getting cracked with Biden.

This is locals reacting to a local situation. Also this case isn’t as popularized or as recorded as the Floyd incident, and while the cops had other options, the guy pulled a stupid, even if they were playing Simon Says and asked for something in the car.

Yup, especially if you go out to the suburbs.

Immediately after the original riots I heard of a services based business that would operate at extremely reduced hours (with the non working days being reserved for repair I guess), but if you were already an established customer then the owner would dig up your phone number in their records and give you a call with her personal residence in the suburbs and you could make a special appointment to see her there if the reduced hours didn't work for you (or if you were afraid to go to the regular building).

Don't know if that actually worked but at least some people tried to get their Minneapolis based business to live on by temporarily having a second location outside the city proper.

I disagree though even stuff that didn't have an immediate video sent the country into full on riot last summer.

Like that Hispanic guy in Philly screaming at police and charging them with a butcher knife.

It was reported as a young unarmed black teen, very little details, and simultaneous riots across the US until a few hours later when the police released that infamous picture.

There's an organization behind last years chimpouts that Burn Loot Murder has never been capable of.

Thats time for him to skip town, or prepare an ambush for when the police show up, use hostages. All sorts of shit. Plus you are in the same situation as before where you got people screaming “say his name” and “leave him alone!”

And on top of that it sets the precedent that you can just tell the police to fuck off for serious things like warrants and weapons charges. Just lawlessness.
