Maybe there *is* some gray area to the "I don't want to hurt anyone, I didn't choose being this way" crowd, but that's irrelevant to those who call themselves MAPs, because if you base your identity around being attracted to little kids and belong to a community of like-minded people trying to normalize it, then you ARE one of the dangerous ones.

Yeah, those SAA folk I mentioned own what they are, but they certainly see no reason to advertise or celebrate it. Some of them are just putting up a show to hide their narcissism, but many of them genuinely do not want to do any harm.

I can't stay too long in this thread as a parent because I will get mad on the internet ratings by sheer bile I want to spew at these dickheads but I can tell these chucklefucks have never been around children for any significant amount of time if they think 'they can consent'.

Up until a certain age children are just tiny drunk midgets who try to off themselves unwittingly at every turn. If you think they can pick what they want for dinner let alone have a relationship I just don't know what to say. Other than, neck yourself. The world is better off without you trying to fuck kids and creating a generation of abused adults.

The difference between these people and the "12 step" types mentioned elsewhere in the thread is that these guys don't believe there is anything wrong with being a pedophile and that the reaction normal people have to it makes them victims. The aforementioned 12 stepper is at least able to identify there is something wrong with them, and that alone could be enough of a deterrent for some of them.

Pedophiles operate on a completely different level though. (You know, the deranged ones who don't drag themselves to a therapist begging to get their balls cut off ... so, most of them). Literally every little innocent thing a kid does is "flirting", or "I can teach them how good it feels, train them to like it and to like me". Most also have a solid dose of narcissism where they don't give two shits about the kid they're abusing, only sex. They are all the worst kind of narcissists and sociopaths where because of their lack of empathy they live only for them selves, down to the most disgusting immoral desire. Even some sociopaths can reason "well if I do x thing that society says is wrong, I'll be imprisoned so I won't do it" and pedophiles are like heroin addicts who will suck the most diseased dick in promise of the smallest hit. They cannot control themselves or resist their desires and that's why they're so dangerous.

Can any psych kiwis explain to a pleb why this is, that pedos are such base animals with no control over sexual desires (the ones who claim to not want to hurt kids) as opposed to normal humans who are attracted to adults who can control sex drives (yes, incels and rapists exist, but when rapists don't "need" consent, they're pretty much half-driven by suffering and sadism anyhow)

because they consider it a big part of their identity
that's part of what makes these MAPs some of the most dangerous - they EMBRACE that side of themselves

That's not necessarily "their truth" (God how I hate that phrase). A lot of them swear they'd never hurt a child but they claim cultivating a relationship with one that may or may not introduce some sexual components isn't harmful to the child and some argue it's even mutually beneficial, it's everyone making a big deal out of it after it comes out that traumatizes the kid, not the actual, you know, rape. "I'm a pedophile but I don't hurt kids" does not automatically mean the same thing to them as it does to sane people.

Of course your original point was that non-pedos don't call themselves pedos or MAPs or whatever because who the fuck would, but there are pedos who are smart enough not to fucking announce it and we have to keep an eye out for those fuckers too.

As for the rest of that, I can see your point however it just doesn't make sense to me. At the risk of PLing, I've been a babysitter for kids 6-14 in the past and I never saw them in a sexual light to begin with so the thought of doing anything sexual to them just wasn't there. So because of that I feel like there has to be a reason why someone would have sexual desires towards children beyond a simple power imbalance or being a desperate loser.

Sorry for lack of an answer for such a long time, but a lot of shit happened in past few months and I simply had not have enough time to visit. It is true, what you say but as I pointed out and I want to say this again ,the topic is much more complicated. I just simply know from my personal experience and stories I heard, that many times people who abuse children are not pedophiles per se. The guy example I provided is perfect here. He just tangles with little girls cause they are only one who will look at him. Might it turn him into a pedophile or hebephile? Probably but it is not always the case.

You don't have to think that it is a fact. For many pedophiles it is a way to cope with themselves and their addiction. Some of them might even throw other pedophiles under the bus, just to have something positive to think about themselves.
