It was mentioned before, but there’s been studies that show a link between low IQs and pedophilic tendencies, some showing a correlation where the younger their "age of attraction" (barf) the lower their IQ is likely to be, leasing to the conclusion that pedos are pedos because they’re literally, dangerously retarded.
I have to imagine that studies like that are confounded by the fact that you'd need to be disabled or autistic to admit to being a pedo on a survey in the first place. Any pedophile smarter than room temperature isn't gonna tell a survey-taker they want to fuck kids, much less the entire internet.

It really is not. IQ testing is a highly refined science with measurable predictive power. The only people who believe otherwise have something to gain or are just not familiar with the procedures and methods of modern IQ and GCA (general cognitive ability) testing. In fact, some major corporations incorporate disguised IQ or GCA testing into their recruitment process to screen for workers with a better capacity for critical thinking. I suggest looking at the first chapter of the Oxford Handbook of Personnel Psychology, probably just page 7-8 and the references if you're interested in this specifically, where they outline the solid foundations of IQ testing. Perhaps, but I have yet to witness a pedo whose actually smart. Even the high profile child molestation cases I noticed tend to have the actual kiddy diddler be some unsubtle tard that were being covered for by indifferent, more capable scumbags.
Permissive attitudes towards these things always seem to result in them being emboldened rather them seeking help. Making people into social pariahs is the thing that motivates them to change I guess.
I mean CP wasn't made illegal in the United States until 1977. Before that you could purchase magazines, books and films of children engaging in sex acts at certain stores or from street vendors that usually depicted young boys, for about the same price as what a month's worth of internet bandwidth costs today. Let that sink in for a moment. We only raised the age to 16 until 1977 and 18 in 1984. Pedos will argue that it falls under the first amendment and that it keeps offenders from offending, but you be the judge of that.
