Funny story, I almost pignosed myself.
I was curious on the definition of doxing/doxxing and if it matches Phil's actions and if I could find any similar case. This is quite hard as the internet is filled with the usual extreme examples which follow the textbook definition, and the rest were VPN services and tips how to avoid dahxing.
My first conclusion was:
Weeeeell technically it's not doxing by the textbook definition. And Phil loves textbook definitions. He hasn't shared it publicly with the whole world, he hasn't collected the informations (PW sent it to him), it wasn't with malicious intend. Case closed!
Phil is innocent!
It wasn't literally dahxing!
ACK ACK! Idiots! Inform yourself!
But wait a minute, he still shared the private informations uncensored with people he wasn't supposed to share with, they were for DSP's eyes only. This is why PW isn't very pleased.
Oh damn, Phil did it again. He successfully distracted from the central problem by harping on a related technicality. He really wants you to look away from the actual thing he's done and feel really bad.
The world isn't black and white and the Wikipedia article isn't the go-to guide on legal behavior. Many websites use different definitions on doxing to protect the privacy of their users; it may be called "doxing" or just "sharing of private informations", it's the same pair of shoes. People call it doxing when it resembles doxing, because this is how language works and definitions can change, form and expand from case to case. Phil's technicality-game has no merit in this instance. I can finally use the word gaslighting, hurra.
Phil, you are the admin and driver of your business, it's
your job to protect the privacy of your users and fans. You shared it for still no explained reasons with a third party who is under no obligation to follow your orders, they're not in a contract with you and you absolutely know you're surrounded by detractors. Point proven: Anony was able to access this information (no, Anony hasn't doxed PW, he censored everything. You didn't). You were tasked with keeping a secret but you arbitrarily drew a line around the discord mod channel and apparently think: The one who shares the info across this line is the culprit.
No!
You posted this! Even if your mods are trustworthy, they are now in the possession of PW's identity and further informations. You made the infos
public to
them, you created the leak. Nowhere is stated how big the crowd has to be to call it "public doxing".
You haven't protected the privacy of PW at all. And don't let us start with the other informations you share with odd individuals, like IP addresses in your forum with your braindead slave KGhaleon.
But wait!
Phil performs a sick ass recovery!
Literally burned, dood!
