Apparently “arc raiders” is filtered in Marathons chat :story:

Played about an hour of it, so far I'm enjoying it which suprised me. AI DOES drop loot it's just a chance though not guranteed. Killed a grunt bot and he just dropped his gun, then I killed a bigger bot and he dropped a whole ass bag full of shit. The AI can overwhelm you if you aren't smart but I didn't have to much trouble killing them.

You die really quick when people aim at you, both AI and players but I've only had basic level 1 or 2 shields so far.

I like the feel of the guns but that's kind of a given, it's a bungie shooter.

Performance wise I'm sitting at 70-80 FPS normally with my RX 7800xt and my AMD 5600 X.

The maps are small but honestly that's fine.

I'll play more after a nap, I've been up since 4am but so far it's not terrible, maybe a bit mediocre.

I don’t think I’ve seen this answered anywhere, but when matches fill is it like Arc Raiders where as teams are wiped off the map, new teams spawn in continuously? And if so, how long in a match can new players spawn in at?

Actually doublepost because the model viewer on there brings up some interesting ideas.
The gun designs are weird but they were definitely trying to do like futuristic weapon platforms, where a lot of them are just variations of a base weapon design as opposed to a completely unique design every time. Good for world building, but when one gun has the "bullet elves" issue, it means others likely have it too.

Feel free to correct me if the magazine in this example is J shaped, the viewer wouldnt let me see it on its own so i have to assume it's straight.

All the gun models are taken from Destiny 2 and then they put shit over the frames

All of them, the firing animations, reload animations, fire rate.. everything is ported over, it's honestly embarrassing as fuck.

It is just so boring. I don't even hate it, there's no venom, it's just boring. Everything is so slow paced, and it's riddled with just tons of bugs. Tried playing with friends, and swapping some kit over to them when we queued in, except the backpack I dropped wasn't able to be picked up, by anyone, not even myself, it just had no interaction elements even though you could highlight it.
No CTDs but that's a pretty low bar. If this is what they were pulling people off of destiny 2 for, I think this is actually the end of bungie, like, this is ps+ month 2, f2p in 6 if it makes it that far.

People are legit talking about the politics of the developer when this game literally looks like a Destiny 2 demake on itch.io. And they're charging the same price as ARC Raiders? That's insane. It's like they looked at DMZ and thought "we can do that."

The one positive thing that I can say is that they seem to be handling the servers well. Afaik there hasn't been many issues. Very excited to see if anybody actually buys it. If we can watch another big ol' blunder, I'll be happy.

Solo queuing in this game feels like I'm wandering an abandoned McDonalds play place with padded walls and floors.

If the game was free I might give it a chance, can't see myself paying $40. I had to sink more than 10 hours into Arc Raiders before the gameplay loop "clicked" and I was lucky enough to get that game as a free promo. I don't know if this has the secret sauce to justify the price tag.

The second map is more pvp focused, smaller map maybe more players spawn there. Fighting AI sucks.

So from what I've seen a lot of players are dying to the AI which is why it feels empty

$40 holy shit they're as dumb as firewalk was, which given that the latter were ex-employees of bungie isnt surprising.

i am tempted to try the abomination but I hate any extraction shooter not called escape from duckov so i simply wont be playing it even for free.
