As a “Morgan Park is a faggot” expert yourself, when Marathon dies, do you think he’ll be writing about how good it actually is?
 
What is going to be great about Marathon is despite having a terrible launch and most likely having an average of daily peek of 2k by the end of the month it is going to be forced to stay on for years to try and bleed microtransactions. Just like Suicide Squad it will stay running with no one playing just to squeeze out pennies to fill the billion dollar hole they dug. We will get to point and laugh for YEARS before it is quietly sunsetted.

The first and last extraction shooter I ever played was The Division and it was such irredeemable dog shit I spit on the term and the genre.
I didn't even care about Marathon until I saw them blatantly meekly ask people not to review the game they put in front of them because they didn't bother to finish it on time.

I'm not really an expert on him, but it definitely feels like he is all-in on this game. And I just noticed he wrote a RIP Highguard article lol (archive). Change my "probably" to a "yes"

People are just now starting to get home from work. It's already gone up to 72,000 as of writing, will probably get higher as the night goes on. Reports are saying it sold 250,000 on Steam day 1, and generously doubling or triple that for consoles leaves them only racking up around 10% of the reported 250 million budget.
IDGAF about the art style or anything, but is the game any good? And if it is good, is it 30 dollars good

And Warframe is in between updates, theres a big one coming on the 25th with admittedly a fuck ugly warframe who is FAT, but their peak playerbase during their last content update was 175k, only dropping to Marathon's current launch levels by late Jan, nearly 1 month later

This is why it was so stupid of them to try and make another live service. Destiny was already competing with Warframe (and succeeding for awhile). So now this new piece of shit has to contend with big boys like Warframe, like AR, hell, it has to compete with their OTHER FUCKING GAME (Destiny 2 is all but dead though kek).

What I played during the free server slam was like 4/10, being generous. Solo queueing is unplayable, literally didn't see a single player for an entire match. There are only 2 empty maps in the game that feel like the same copy pasted office buildings.

Oh yeah, and the actual end game final boss content isn't even in the fucking game. So basically they are selling you some unfinished slop shit for $40.

The only time I would consider playing this game again is if it went on sale for like $3 or if it was free.
