I played all of the console and handheld Mario Kart games except tour. I've even played one of the arcade ones with Pac-man.
I liked all of the ones I played except maybe 7. I felt the Kart customization were to unbalanced in 7 but were neatly retooled in 8.

48 new tracks for 8 deluxe sounds neat but are we getting any new racers?

No word on racers, it's probably exclusively tracks since I would assume they want to move onto MK9 on the next console now.

Disagree. I think the release of 48 new tracks (which doubles the total number) is an implicit admission that the next console and next Mario Kart are a long while off. @Rome's rightful successor I would not be surprised one bit if they add racers along with tracks. It could happen; each release of new tracks is going to come with its own mini hype campaign. My expectation is that this first release will be the most rushed/the worst.

I find it too optimistic of you to expect new racers with how Nintendo has already handled the roster for MK8. If at this point we haven't even seen seasonal alts like Mario Kart Tour has.

My perception of the DLC pack is that it shows Nintendo listening to the fans. So if they're listening to that, maybe they're listening to the years-long complaints about not enough racers or too many babies. Plus, they'll hopefully be applying some of the stuff they learned with Tour as they move forward with 8.

So what I'm saying is that we're going to get even more baby characters.

The two characters I know just have to appear whether here or in 10 are Pauline and Funky Kong. Logically it makes the most sense. Dixie Kong is a close second behind. Also Birdo.

Does Dixie Kong have too much sex appeal to be in Kart though? The higher the fidelity of her character model, the more problems there are going to be.
