Seems like it was the same with Hispachan and they decided to shut down. Server costs are expensive these days and even running an image board as a hobby might be a luxury you have to cut out.
My understanding with hispachan was that it shut down suddenly and without warning, with a lot of drama before the site's shutdown. This lead to them taking refuge on moe because Acid was desperate for more clicks, and now they're the majority of the site.

Well /k/ was one of the most active boards there. The BO has made /news/ on .moe so some people might follow him there or move to other /k/'s in the webring.
There are other small boards having to decide what to do as well. There's an active /islam/ board that's going to make their own site.
And then /cuckqueen/ wants to move to another site that's hoping to poach boards too.

This is a canary dying in the coal mine, webring is already halfway to the grave but if more sites start shutting down, that will only lead to further irrelevancy. I think we can consider the entire webring experiment a complete and utter failure

It was supposed to be temporary but then it became permanent. I think one of the problems with it is it still carries the baggage from 8chan, namely Mark and Acid who don't do anything to improve it. Banning /deliclous/ and /blacked/ would be a great start.

Biggest problem right now is the lack of population. Even if you take all the users of the webring and adjacent sites and put them all together, they are still nothing compared to 8chan at it's prime. Most users have moved on or gone on to use 4chan/social media instead, and what little userbase remains is scattered in a thousand different directions on sites that barely get any traffic. The only time there was any comparable activity to old 8chan was with julay.world and early days of moe, once the drama started it all went downhill.
Just look at /k/ here, there is 4 different variants of it and another pseudo /k/ with /news/. If the userbase cannot even determine where it wants to go, then that will leave a whole lot confusion and even more dead boards in it's wake.
First time I stopped by 8moe in what seems like months. Place as dead as ever, feels depressing to even catch up on it now. Feels like browsing /b/ or Something Awful now, a place out of time with a few hanger ons making you feel even older than you are.

I can't even be bothered to care about more petty alt chan drama. Once you've seen one dead-end imageboard you've seen them all, no reason to fight over which one is least irrelevant or which one had a proxy war with another that week
Hey, didn't know that there was a thread dedicated to Mark and 8chmoe. I must have missed it somehow.
It's kind of pain in the ass how all the smaller splinter imageboards quickly die off, never to be seen again. Compartmentalization is a real threat to imageboards. so much so that I've seen numerous altchans go into hiatus, only to be restored as discord servers or just die off completely. The rest of them like zzz, or even 8v get very few posts.
Soyjack party might be an exception but I'm glad that there's at least an alternative.

Feel the same way, used to stick around the Meta thread to see whatever shitstorm was brewing but that got boring too. One thing I’d like to bring up is that quite literally everyday someone must mention 4/v/ and how heckin horrible it is now (and how 8chan is so much better) . Meanwhile you can go days without anyone on 4/v/ mentioning 8chan. It feels like a middle aged man who still cares about his highschool rivarly.

I didn't capture it, but there has been a whole lot of back and forward lately. Same old as it always has been: Somebody dares to make a post Mark doesn't like, all of their post history is deleted, anon posts about it in the Meta thread, Mark or a mod come in to "defend themselves", they get bodied by users, all related posts in the Meta thread deleted with a few posts replying to the deleted ones talking about how this was a named shill of the week, to try and re-write history on how the posts were made by a "detractor". Plenty of posts complaining about how dead the site is, too

Saved the best for last: Apparently the chart sperg(who was covered a few pages ago) started spamming in the Resident Evil thread again. In case you don't remember, the thread made around the time the RE4 remake came out was a disaster: Basically anyone that didn't like the game was banned because Mark Mann(Pedophile) is a major Crapcom stan...he and his cocksuckers later insisted that it was one person who was constantly IP hopping. Not like we will know, since he turned the thread into swiss cheese in his typical style.

Cannot confirm if this was actually this guy or if he was IP hopping, this is just something we will have to take Mark's word at face value. It should be noted that the first image, the Borderlands one, was posted in the RE4 Remake era thread and similarly triggered the crapcom fans. This was definitely done intentionally.
