Eh. They didn't think that much about it. That's these types of people's default response whenever someone tries to tell them they're wrong in some form or fashion.
I'm curious about a few things though:
- Since no one is going "women", I assume they're all true n' honest women, right?
- If so, that's pretty bizarre. Women in faster-paced, team multiplayer games have historically been pretty fucking awful. I'm sure there's always onesies and twosies in most games that are rock stars, but I'm fairly certain (for basically every game) every time there's an "all female" team that plays against anyone else, they get their ass kicked to oblivion. IDK. Times may have changed since I don't pay attention to vidya nearly as much, but every single time an "all female" team was tried, it was purely a PR stunt and complete disaster.
- Also, I guess understanding the nature of the tournament may provide more insight into how at least a pseudo-spontaneous team of at least 5 women even happens. Considering it was a draft, I have to imagine it was intended to be more laid-back and casual, but the cash prize obviously leans it back into competitive.
No idea if that prize pool is good/bad for Marvel Rivals, but it wouldn't be that crazy if they wanted to slightly motivate a casual, "fun" tournament with just a little bit of money. It'd explain the differing perspectives for sure. The complaining women were playing solely for the fun aspect since they get plenty of money from simps, whereas the dude can't flash his tits on stream and say "UWU $5 prease". It doesn't really absolve their behavior, but it at least explains it.
- If so, they definitely should have explained that to him beforehand because that's just mismatched expectations at that point. Bro probably wouldn't have advised the broad to play something that didn't suck if he knew they weren't trying to win. However, the woman are even bigger fuckheads for drafting a dude who was clearly playing to win the game if they didn't intend to try.
Either that, or the bitch who insisted on Black Widow needs to get good. I'm all for picking off-meta heroes if you know what you're doing and curb stomp people who don't know how to play against it, but if you pick a shitty hero, you better contribute something beyond deaths like she did. I don't know shit about this game, but no kills, no assists, 5 deaths has never been a good statline in any game. TBH, I don't know how you manage it unless you're always the first person to get picked off every time, LOL.
