I love him bros. Has anyone ever definitively figured out what he actually does for work?

Yeah back when people were looking into it they found it out, hes some type of lawyer or paralegal, the most ever verified was that he worked at a law office, and I dont think it was ever confirmed but his 'weirdness' was suggested that he used to be really into amateur hockey (people found a MasaoHF account with the same Southpark avatar on some hockey forum I believe but I think this was back in the Somethingawful thread) and he got some degree of head trauma or that he somehow had the small house as an apartment he inherited or something, and it was as bad as it was because he was a heavy alcoholic at the time. Honestly the alcoholism and having a second house makes sense because in a lot of videos he mentions drinking or uses some random bottle of liquor he had around, and if hes got a second house/rental, even if he sold it he probably has money and most likely a decent enough job.

Users on that hockey forum asked him to make videos cooking because of things he would mention in conversation. He created his YouTube channel to upload those videos.

I'm just happy I live close enough to Masaokis to have seen the eclipse in almost the exact same way at the same time.

He's specifically a contract lawyer, I remember he mentioned at one point work on some CBAs and other union-related paperwork. Fun stuff, I get to read all of what Masaokis does for my own job.

I'vae always wondered that about him. How exactly does a hardcore alcoholic with possible head trauma living in absolute squalor function well enough to hold down such a cognitively and socially demanding job as a contract lawyer? Granted, many a lawyer is an alcoholic, but they seem far more functional than Masaokis.

Contract law is definitely not socially demanding, it requires extreme attention to detail going through documents and adhering to the specific areas within that field you focus on. You'll never see a courtroom in your life most likely.

Masaokis doesn't normally live in squalor though, he owns multiple properties in fact. This is the place he goes to be by himself for extended periods of time and do strange things.

My guess is he's probably actually good at what he does otherwise he couldn't get away with being such a complete weirdo. Basically the Bunny Ears Lawyer trope irl.
 
Any signs of life anywhere? I know he's disappeared for periods of time before, but I wish we'd get a video.

Do we know anything about his family background other than he has a sister? I have a personal theory he's a hapa. There was one video were he sang a small song about Sambuca and he explained the original song came from a Japanese drama he used to watch with his family. I know Canada gets more Asian entertainment than the US, but I got the sense it wasn't just a regular TV show airing in Quebec. He also had that random Japanese sword he pulled out from under his sink to stir his coconut oil hamburger. There's a few other things that I can't remember exactly what they were. It might explain the craziness too.

Coconut bread will forever be my favourite, and his use of a sword is the main reason why.

I didn't even realize this guy had a thread. I remember watching this guys videos laughing my ass off with friends. I mean we all figured it was staged even then but still fucking hilarious.
