Beardson did have the potential to be a sympathetic guy under circumstances especially some of the family related stuff but in the end he simply chose to be an asshole because he felt he could get away with it while being a facefag. He wanted to be a big name during GamerGate and it never happened, every e-celeb or political figure he tried to link up with didn't pan out until he met Nick who was young and naive enough to let that creep into his life.
