Matthew Prince lied.

So one post on 4chan & a post which everyone here knows is a fedpost (it didn't match the usual style we see) and we get to keep the title of worst stalking and suicide baiting website.
Fucking unbelievable if they can openly do that and everyone believes those fucking loonies.

Jersh I admire your resilient nature you stubborn Jannie! without knowing or trying I believe you've been thrown into a massive culture war.

o7 king Jannie great job

As you said, the precedent has been set. Even if they unblock it eventually, you could hardly ever trust them again. Move .net and any other domains with them the fug outta dodge.

Honestly even having the servers hosted in the U.S./a Five Eyes nation is less than ideal at this point I'd say, but migrating those is probably another level of difficulty (though from a purely legal point of view, the U.S. probably is still better than most other locations for freedom of speech protections, as long as the private third parties one relies on don't totally cuck out as Cloudflare has).

I've not yet moved my domains from Cloudflare, because a part of me thinks that Matthew will recognize this as an err in judgement. The decision is simply too asinine for me to accept as reality.
Too much goodwill, Null. I took one look at the Twitter replies and as usual troons + troons enabler are still not happy, they're tearing Cloudflare a new one for being too late about it. Once they smell blood in the water they won't give it up.
Matthew is only the face, the decision was likely taken by all the board of directors after a cost/benefit analysis, there's no room for ethics.

He 100% sides with free speech but then got a call with an ultimatum from a shareholder/board member and had to absolutely scramble to find any reason to block the site. It's so flagrantly unprincipled as to be real.
You want a principled man, you have to go down at least 5 levels from the C-suite.

What bothers me is that it doesn't seem like Cloudflare did any investigation of any sort... I would hope that any major provider, especially one like cloudflare would do an investigation into how substantial a potential threat is, and it worries me that cloudflare doesnt have a department that handles deep dive/root cause investigations for potential issues. I know cloudflare isnt a governing body, but they said it themselves, they handle 20% of the internet traffic, and a bunch of stuff for fortune 500 companies. You'd assume they'd have proper staffing when it came to investigating potential reports like this.
