Faith didn’t want an abortion. She was determined to have a baby, even if it was the Gunt’s. I think she saw a baby as her ticket out of her parent’s house, like marriage was for a teen in the 1950’s. All she needed was a sperm donor and Ralph obliged. Not gonna lie, it's unsettled me some of the ways Matt spoke about Xander. He resents the fuck out of that baby. What I don't get is that if they had all this money to buy consoles and VR shit for people, why didn't they just pay to get an abortion. Especially with the protective order, Faith could have claimed her life was in danger, and got it done even up to viability from my understanding of Cali abortion law. Viggers could have even just on paper kicked her out so Faifai could claim she was homeless and get it all done for free.
Mark my words, something is going to happen to that baby if Matthew Vickers is involved with Xander. Maybe that's why what's her face is divorcing him? Wouldn't put it passed Matthew to wallop Xander if he was being fussy while he was trying to play whatever Disney cellphone gatcha game is popular now.
It worked, having Xander got her a move into her grandma’s hours away in LA. Getting knocked up finally got her out of the Vicker’s foreclosed house. One could argue college or job training would have been the smarter path but she wanted out of the Vickers house asap and didn’t want to be their nanny.
I do now 100% believe was forced to be a full time nanny for her younger siblings. This is why her parents were so angry about her leaving, she was their childcare provider. If you force a teen into a mom role for years don’t be surprised if she just decides she’d rather have her own baby than take care of others. The way welfare benefits work having a kid can get them pseudo-independence. They can rely on the govt to survive instead of mom and dad. (In the projects having a baby gets a girl her own hood rat nest)
