McDonalds - I'm Lovin' It

Let me tell you about the visit to McDonald's I had an hour ago.

I go in and order a Quarter Pounder with Cheese meal with no ketchup. The guy says "we don't do small combos anymore, so do you want a medium or a large?"

I was taken back by this, and replied with "...Uh, large I guess?" The guy charges me for a large meal and I pay. After the transaction is finished, he hands me a small drink. I had no idea what was going on, and I didn't even want to go down the rabbit hole of trying to figure out what had just transpired, so I took my small drink and sat down. A young mother and her children who were waiting behind me then ordered.

I wait fifteen minutes. Fifteen fucking minutes. Myself, another young man, and the mother were the only people in the restaurant. The aforementioned young man was waiting for his to-go order when I walked in. Finally they call his number and mine simultaneously. A large order of cold fries sat next to my burger.

As I'm walking my tray back to the table, the lad with the to-go order realizes that they completely fucked the order up. As he's explaining to the cashier what he actually ordered, I flip open my Quarter Pounder box and see that it is plain with ketchup only.

I follow suit and go to rectify the matter, even though every ounce of logic is telling me not to. The cashier was extremely apologetic to both of us, and miraculously got us our correct order in an acceptable amount of time.

I'm eating my burger, and the cashier comes to my table with an offering of a small fries to apologize. I accepted, but found the choice of amends confusing, as I already had a large fries. A pie or ice cream cone would have been more logical.

I finish my meal and as I'm leaving the mother and her children are still waiting for their food. It had been at least half an hour since they ordered. I got into my car and made a mental note of the cars that were backed up in the drive through. I drove across the street to the tobacco bodega, bought a pack of smokes, and had a nice chat with the cashier.

When I walked outside, none of the cars in the drive through had moved.
Good story. Not fast food.

I have no idea why it can take so long sometimes even when there's barely anyone else waiting. I can make my own hamburger with cheese in less than five minutes.

Most of the employees of two nearby McD's are refugees from places Vladimir Putin is terrorizing. I only go because they keep country music on full blast, as well as the air to discourage loitering.
Those things only keep me there longer.

I've actually resorted to drawing a picture of what I want, the burqua wearing chick at the counter is not one tiny bit better at ringing people up after three months. It's shiny spandex, too, some kind of sports burqua?
I get the same thing everytime, side salad, Coke Zero, and an iced coffee. Dumb bitch.

Were Chicken Juniors a thing in other countries? Ate them all high school long, as they cost x1.5 as much as cheese-/hamburgers, yet was a step up in terms of bun quality. Was just chicken, salad and some dressing of sorts, but wasn't as expensive as the 'real' burgers at $5 etc.

Yet to meet anyone who've seen them, even inside this country.

So did anyone here try out the Szechuan sauce, thoughts, opinions?

The name isn't the same, but we have a chicken-based sandwich here in Eastern Europe

I remember McDonalds in Czechia having two different chicken sandwiches and the cheaper one was only like 27 koruna and surprisingly it was fucking delicious.

I wonder if Heinz will start selling McDonald's-branded McNugget szechuan sauce in squeeze bottles in Canada at Walmart and Loblaws like they've done with Big Mac sauce, McChicken sauce, and Filet-O-Fish sauce (isn't that really just tartar sauce, though?)?

We had the Junior Chicken in Canada for a while, though I believe it was identical to the U.S. McChicken sandwich. I think McDonald's Canada switched to the U.S. branding for the cheap chicken sandwich a couple of years ago. Currently, there's also the Thai Sweet Chili Chicken sandwich in the McTasters line though I think that's a limited-time-only thing. ADDENDUM: Ya know, now that I think about it some more, I think I was right about the Canadian Junior Chicken being the same thing as the U.S. McChicken but now I remember that there was also a Canadian McChicken sandwich that was a full-size sandwich and not half-sized like the Junior Chicken.

My favourite McDonald's chicken sandwich was the McBistro Southwest Chicken that they got rid of a few years ago in favour of other chicken sandwiches that appear with huge advertising campaigns like the CBO (Chicken, Bacon, Onion) only to disappear 6 months later.

KFC used to have a delicious tiny sandwich called Chicken Littles that were absolutely fantastic to get when you were stoned out of your mind, as they cost something like $0.39 so you could just order 30 of them for the car full of stoners and go into a manic feeding frenzy.

McD's fries are good (especially if it's from a fresh batch), but they're not as good as they used to be. Checker's/Rally's has the best fast food fries, IMO.

Every now and then, i'll have a craving for a Big Mac. I know the sauce is basically Thousand Island dressing with mustard and ketchup, but it's just so damn good.

Most favorite item: a sausage biscuit with a packet of strawberry jam added. I will beat a nun to death with a newborn baby for one right now.

I knew that the first time I had them almost 30 years ago!

Yes, I didn't even know people actually called it that instead of just Tartar Sauce (Hell at McDonald's I work at, I have never once heard a customer or coworker call it "Filet-O-Fish Sauce", and even on the computers its called "Tartar Sauce"). It's the same thing with McChicken Sauce, its literally just Mayonnaise

Damn now I wish I lived in Ohio, because that sounds delicious

Also, their pies got much, much better. I recently had their apple and peach pies, and they're so good. The crust is flakey, the filling tastes like fruit, and it's not nuclear hot in the middle.
