There's a new burger being advertised where I live called the "McArch", is it any good, kiwibros?

Odd, since I find that without fail McDs fails at cooking eggs and makes it flavorless rubbery horror. I'd recommend most other fast food breakfasts over it honestly.

I think they're all like that now because of delivery apps. If most of the cold fries you send out get no complaints because they're going to sit for a half hour anyway, it's one less thing to worry about.
The last place I used to go to semi-regularly always had hot, fresh fries, and it had lines of cars practically out into the highway and sometimes into the right lane at peak times, and despite that, you got served ridiculously quickly and everything was always fresh.

Amazingly, once they went to shit, there are no lines any more and the place looks like it's dying.

These fucking delivery apps are shit and everyone who uses them should be summarily executed. They've ruined everything, so that lazy deathfat worthless cocksuckers can get soggy dead fries in an hour and pay through their intensely fat noses for the privilege.

And everyone else gets inconvenienced to coddle these lazy scum.

Getting McDonald's fries delivered would be insane, however.
The thing is various McDonald's delivery projects have been tried over the years, and pretty much all of them have been failures. Even when they tried branded food courts in supermarkets briefly, the operators found out that the taste profile changed too much when customers brought food home.

I'm sure that most franchisees probably hate the pivot toward delivery; there's no way it works in lower-volume and rural areas.

The problem wtih McDick's is even in the places where it's still good if served fresh, it deteriorates within minutes. That shit is for wolfing down while it's still hot and right off the griddle. You can't revive their fries even minutes after getting them fresh. They're for immediate consumption. That's sort of the whole point of fast food.

There is absolutely no point in refrying McD's fries, they're even worse after doing that. At least that godawful mass of fries Five Guys throws on top of everything to the point the grease seeps through the bag actually improves if you refry them in an air fryer or something.

I used to buy ten cheeseburgers for 9.91 at midnight on gyro day, and just walk around town 'til sunrise slowly yammin' em.
The increase of more than 20% price has made it a less attractive option for my nocturnal snack 'n stroll.
Two quid is milk money for the week.
I've shifted my indulgences elsewhere.

I stopped eating fast food, it's been a while. I remember eating McDonalds not long ago because why not,... I can't believe people eat this shit. It's the same with frozen processed food. It tastes like nothing, it's flavorless and at best/worse you taste the chemicals that are put in it to stimulate sensations on your tongue.
I stopped going to McD's because I have no economical way to get there. And I lost a few thousand points for inactivity. And now I'm spending $20 to have it delivered to me. Thanks a lot.

Proving yet again that corporate is run by idiots. They're clearly trying to get rid of plastic containers in favor of that cardboard shit while ignoring the fact that those sorts of containers use plastic because plastic is an insulator and slows down heat absorption from being held in your hands while cardboard does not and transfers heat far better. In other words your mcflurry will melt faster, especially in warmer weather. This is right up there with using shitty paper straws that turn to mush and fall apart in your drink

So as a UK/US resident, it is drilled into UK people that culturally Miccie D's is the zeitgiest of all American fast food and I strongly disagree. When in the states I reside in TX and Maccies has little to no footprint there. Never went to one or have but you don't really see people go in there. Now Wendy's is constantly busy and Chiq fil a is always going. The quality is just too stark too, Chiq fil a bodies in fact gang rapes Maccies in terms of quality but also service. You can go there busy after work and not even wait 5 minutes and its full to the brim, you even get people come take your order at the front. I will say this Maccies has like 7 good menu options;

  • Breakfast (way, way overpriced now) A few years back you could get a breakfast with a latte for £5, its now fucking £8/9
  • Latte esp toffee nut, their coffee is actually not ass and better than Costa (largest UK chain) and Starbucks
  • Nuggies, actually good value wise but the recipe has changed and they are worse
  • Quarter pounder, still slaps over the Big Mac anyday
  • Fries, still the best, I am a sociopath and don't mind their fries cold but I am the minority I know and feel bad for it.
Maccies quality over the last few years is crazy, I used to like the odd Big Mac but they are so shit now and the shrinkflation is wild. If I got get a quarter pounder with a double cheese, milkshake and fries its about $15 converted. Can someone tell management to stop fucking with recipes too because the quality in burgers and milkshakes is there and not good. Other outlets are just better and have smaller yet better menus, Chiq fil a's is tiny but goddamn its good, their milkshakes are amazing and just shit on Maccies.

Over in the UK we have a thing that puts a dent in Maccie's sales and that is a Meal Deal or accurately the Tesco Meal deal.

They are £4 or $4.75, workers at lunchtime gather round Tescos or other supermarkets, I went into a Macdonalds the other day at lunch on my commute and it was dead. They failed to innovate and that waits for no one. Also legit stopped going there more because their shitty paper straws they are the fucking worst in the entire food sector. They melt in a minute.
