MCU Television and Animation Series on Disney + - WandaVision, FATWS, Loki, etc

Moon Knight was pretty 'meh' so far. The accent wasn't as Dik Turpin as I thought it would be honestly, which was nice. The premise of the show with the split personality seems pretty good. All the Marvel shows so far have been very high on the 'interesting premise' but all of them floundered on delivering the idea. This will likely be no different, but you live in hope.

I've admittedly never have been into Marvel stuff, but decided to check out Moon Knight because it looked interesting. With my limited knowledge, I liked the first episode. I liked the music and I like Egyptian stuff too. I'm also a fan of Oscar Isaac, even if Steven did seem a little too hammy for my liking.

Having the first twenty-ish minutes of episode two of MK being more of Steven fumbling around, not understanding what's going on and refusing to accept it felt like wasted time. Layla isn't the blond bombshell she is in the comics (scratch that, I was thinking of Marlene in the comics; Layla seems to be an original character) but the actress seems fine. I was looking forward to Mr. Knight but Grant's hammy, awkwardness kinda ruined it for me. Beyond that it felt like more of the same of episode one.

It's not really wowing me so far but it's definitely better than F&TWS.

Thankfully it seems with Steven actually conscious while Marc's in control we're past that not-knowing stage now. I agree it was getting a bit much, but that's what happens when you need a relatable protagonist to appeal to the masses.

As a Moon Knight fan, I was a bit surprised at where this is going. The suit for Steven is interesting but again I'm mostly just curious as to how this is going to work.

You can tell they're trying to keep it lighthearted by making Steven just a regular guy but not have them have another Tony Stark esque character. I agree that this choice was most likely for people to relate to him and also so he can do humorous things with other characters when he's placed into the movies.

I'm mostly just curious as to how they'll portray everyone.

I'm mostly just curious as to how many alters there will be. In the comics, there are three. However, in this they seem to go for a more Hulk dynamic with just two. I also find it a bit weird that Khonsu is egging for his wife. I'm surprised he has a wife. I feel like this is a typical Marvel thing where everyone needs a love interest for some reason. It's kinda annoying having characters be forced into a typecast like this.

As for Steven's suit get up, that's an archetype of Moon Knight called Mr. Knight. He's usually in that get up for detective work and such but Steven isn't really that smart so I'm a bit confused as to how this is going to work.

So two episodes in and we have a self-loathing hero who doesn't *want* to be a hero, with a mental illness, who is saved through most of the episode by a strong woman who they are setting up as his replacement.

So a typical, modern leftist show. The first episode had promise but it showed its hand pretty quickly.

I really hope they didn't just make up a character (Layla is made up completely) just for a reason to replace him. That would be incredibly stupid since the whole thing only works with the guy. They can't pull a Thor with this one, it wouldn't work at all.

Marc is gonna stay in that role no matter what to spare her from being Moon Knight, so I don't think there's gonna be a bait and switch here.

A bit of a sperging but honestly I find the entire "save the wife we made up from Khnonsu" to be kinda dumb. Marc just is Moon Knight because he wants to protect people and help people. That's it. The real drama comes from him being a lunatic at times and the monsters that he fights.

It's just kinda dumb how they added a romantic interest in there because apparently all main characters in films and shows need a romantic interest for... reasons? If I'm purely pessimistic, I bet she's going to die in the final fight so Marc can have stupid angst over it. But they probably want her alive so they can do a romance thing in the next movies.

To be quite honest, I'm mostly just watching this because I'm curious how they'll interpret the character. I don't mind if it goes away from the comics, I just find this weird forcing of a character into a typical Marvel shtick to be a bit odd and strange. It's just very strange seeing patterns in the previous Marvel characters and then you see them trying to do the same thing with a character that wasn't really that way.

I guess having a romance angle helps secure the women demographic? Just spit balling here, I have no real idea how their metrics work. Thankfully, I don't think Layla's all that bad so far so unless she randomly becomes a huge cunt down the line it's not so much a dealbreaker imo.

I don't really see a problem with Moon Knight having a romantic interest given the existence of Marlene in the MK comics, who has been around for the vast majority of Moon Knight's existence, and Layla appears to just be a re-named Marlene.

The biggest travesty in this adaptation is that there's no Frenchie.

Possibly? I don't really mind Layla it's just that I know she was added for some reason and I don't know the reason so my mind is trying to figure out why the addition was made.

He exists. His last name, Duchamp, was in Marc's phone.

REEL SHIFT was a decent youtuber that I use watch from time to time but now he's full sperg mode just because Marvel don't want make the capeshit that he want them to make. I hate these "comic purists" in general since they cry & bitch everytime hollywood makes another one of these shows/films thinking it will be true point for point as the original source material.

Like are you aware that that's what happen when you adapt printed media (such as comics/graphic novel etc...) its seldom that you ever see a fatithful adaption in this medium since if done as if the content was written as if it was a screenplay, it would just be no different that if you are watching a formal dinner theatre.

I'm not saying that "Moon Knight" is the worse thing ever made but the way REEL SHIFT was acting in the videos goes without saying "Are you trying to be the next lolcow on this site dude?!"

Speaking of episode three, it was a nice change of pace from the first two. More action and decent plot advancement.

That said, the audience with the gods scene was stupid. Oscar Issac's performance of channeling Knoshu was over-the-top to the point of being cringy. Also, I think all Spector had to do was point out that Harrow had a magical tattoo that granted him Ammit's power to judge people. That whole scene just made everyone but Harrow look like retards.

Also, Spector only ever using the suit as a last resort feels like a dumb "because the plot needs it to be that way" sort of thing.

Diehard crits are the other side of the spergy stan coin. Best to just ignore them.

I actually really liked that council scene, but mostly for the lore aspect. I wonder why some avatars didn't show up?

I have watched all three episodes. They weren't confusing. Not unless you are a retard who has the attention span of a gnat.

It's not overly well written but it's *okay* and it's certainly not Star Trek levels of bad writing.

I thought ment to come off funny. You mean it wasn't?

I liked the lore presented in it but the plot of it is pretty dumb. Harrow's defense for being in Egypt is just "lol i'm just hangin out in the desert" which isn't probed into; there's also nothing brought up about the gigantic worldwide cult he has nor the various powers and artifacts he possesses. It made Knoshu and Marc look like they have a collective IQ of 1.
