- Marc and Steven being considered separate people in the after life yet apparently not Jake (undoubtedly done to preserve the end credit twist) felt like really dumb writing.
- "You were my super power, Steven." was a really stupid line. Yeah, having a debilitating mental illness certainly is a super power.
- Layla suddenly becoming an Avatar felt really lazy.
- "ARE YOU AN EGYPTIAN SUPER HERO!?" was cringe. Surprised she didn't correct the kid with "No, SUPER HEROINE!"
- What was up with that final imaginary asylum scene? It felt completely randomly placed. Seemed like it should've been placed between Marc & Steven escaping through the afterlife gate but before they awake in the real world.
- The final showdown was just sorta boring.
- What became of the global cult Harrow made?
- This is the MCU -- where's the interconnectivity with... anything else? No mention of any other 'gods', no heroes or organizations investigating all the weird shit going on; even the Netflix shows occasionally had a reference to the larger universe.
Overall it felt rushed. The first five episodes felt like a good first half of a season... but then everything gets concluded in episode six. Oscar Isaac really elevates and carries the show, though Ethan Hawke was also really good and I liked that Harrow was ready and wiling to live and die by his own rules, he was probably one of the best MCU villains so far. Lastly, the reveal of Jake makes me wonder if he really did kill Randall that day.
