What are you talking about, Liz is gorgeous. And has aged remarkably better than her sisters too, and is generally a far better actress.
My mum usually hates Marvel but she and my dad seemed to love the show and that's probably why. It's probably the most un-Marvel thing that Marvel has done, which to me ironically makes it the most Marvel thing they've done. I'm stoked to see their takes on 80s and 90s sitcoms, especially if they just go full Full House. I do agree though the fact that it's filmed clearly on Arri Alexa LFs and not videotape did kinda detract from it, but I did like how they used the camera quality to make clear distinctions between the eras presented. Actually too, on second watch you'll notice the impossible camera angles in episode 1 are done on purpose to make the viewer uncomfortable.

My only regret is that I somehow typed "to" when I obviously meant "two." But yeah, even with the Lucille Ball makeup, this Olsen sister still looks like an ugly goblina (but I'll admit, less ugly than her older, more popular, siblings.)

I thought it was reasonably entertaining. Enough that I'll watch more. I feel the unsettling super-hero subverted normality feel has been done previously and better by Doom Patrol but it's intriguing and well-done enough that it works so far. I rarely spare my time for something that is merely good. I tend to watch something that is excellent or read a book. But the two leads are both very likeable (and non-goblinlike) that I enjoy watching them. And I think both actors are enjoying it as well. You can tell. And that helps.
EDIT: I've just realised what this reminds me of - the Dirk Gently TV show. Something I enjoyed a lot and was really pissed when it was cancelled because Max Landis who is very talented got Me Too'd by a woman who says on camera she fantasizes about raping people. So this is a mark in favour of WandaVision, imo.

I forgot that WandaVision was coming out. I only found out because I'm in the middle of re-watching the Clone Wars series, and so I saw this series being pimped out everywhere on the Disney+ home menu.
Not gonna lie: I loved the first two episodes. As a big fan of "classic TV," I think that Marvel actually did their homework for this series. I'm glad that the two episodes weren't just the characters winking at the camera constantly; the "50's sitcom" aspect to these episodes were played straight ... And I love that. I also love the creepy elements that were sprinkled throughout the two episodes as well.
Basically, the tone of these episodes made me feel like I was actually watching a real sitcom from the 50's ... But then a creepy moment would happen to make me remember that "Something isn't quite right." So far, I think it's been a fun and effective balancing act.
Welp. Marvel, you've got my attention. I went in with no expectations, and now I'm actually looking forward to more episodes.

Seems like people either love it or hate it (for the most part anyway). I have a feeling it'll be one of the luckier MCU shows in that regard.

The polarized response doesn't shock me in the slightest. I can easily see a bunch of normies hating these first two episodes.
"Why is this in black and white?!"
"Why is it in full screen?!"
"Why is there a laugh track?!"
"Why am I watching Vision trying to impress his boss at a dinner party with these silly hijinks?! I thought this was Marvel!"
I was one of those kids who cared more about Nick-At-Nite back in the 90's over Nicktoons. I actually attribute Nick-At-Nite for turning me into the persistent night owl that I am today, haha. I understand that I am not in the majority with that. For me, personally, I found these episodes to be delightful, but I can easily see how many people would get immediately turned off.

Its genuinely great to see Marvel finally embracing just how fucking weird it can often be.
I think it'll take a while for people to catch onto the show though.

Saw Wanda Vision and don't know anything about the superhero stuff nor care to. It makes me want to watch Pleasantville again and it's pretty much the same thing without superheroes.

I'll also say (and this isn't just limited to this show) that I don't care for the outdated way that Disney has decided to release content on their streaming service - i.e. weekly releases of episodes instead of just dropping them all at once. This isn't network television, and all of the episodes are most likely already finished. There's no reason to do it like this in the age of binge watching.

It's to extend the value of Disney+ and also helps with online discussion and push. It's hard to get hyped for a show that's dumped all at once and I know I wouldn't have enjoyed Mandolorian so much if it was a one and done thing

I think I may have said something similar before, but is it really? If I was actually paying for Disney+ (I'm not, I'm mooching off the folks because Disney doesn't seem to know or even care if you're living in the same house as the people actually paying for the service), I'd just cancel it until they released the entire series, then I'd binge and cancel again until the next thing I wanted to see came out in entirety. Or I'd just pirate it so I wouldn't have to deal with that bullshit at all, because that isn't even remotely difficult to do these days. It's a dead model, and I doubt it's even making all that much more money.

The only thing I'm concerned about is if it will go into Legion territory in terms of confusing pointless scenes with no meaning or context because....god that show was painful. Though Dan and Aubrey deserved Emmys.

I would frankly be amazed if this wasn't at least somewhat intentional. "We're in a 60's (black and white) sitcom that satirizes the genre, but we randomly add color to parts of it for reasons that I'm sure will mean something at some point..." Again, I'll say that I bet this show thinks it's a hell of a lot smarter than it actually is.

Personally, I don't think the first two episodes came across as satire of the 50's and 60's sitcoms. Instead I thought they came across as a homage to those sitcoms. Not once did I think that the show was winking at the audience constantly, saying "lol this is so dumb, am I right?" Instead, the episodes played out like two actual episodes of Classic TV sitcoms, with some moments sprinkled here and there that remind the audience that something else is going on, too.
Anyway, I just watched this featurette. Apparently they filmed the sitcom episodes in front of a live studio audience. Yeah ... This is definitely a homage, in my opinion.
The story's payoff could totally fall flat on it's face, don't get me wrong. However, I love the hell out of the setup so far, and the show has my attention for now.
