Has there ever been any ballistic testing on any of that ammo? Im not that smart but something tells me the performance has to be not good.

Not that I know of in the West that has been published. I'm sure some of the Glowie agencies have tested it. My bet is that by its nature, it going to be an extremely close range weapon/ammunition combination. Like, bad breath distance or closer, perhaps even having the weapon in contact with the target's head. But it would be interesting to actually see it tested.

SAR states that The PSS pistol and it's 7.62x41mm SP-4 ammunition pushes a 155gr bullet at around 620fps. The PSS-2, the modernized successor uses a proprietary 7.62x43mm SP-16 cartridge that is "more powerful"

It was evidently lethal enough to kill people.

Math class was s long time ago but I wonder if lethality wouldn't be better served by a lighter projectile, Because I remember reading somewhere that velocity has a 1.3x multiplier on energy compared to mass.

I have no doubt that if you really put a lot of effort and modern technology into it you could make a 50mm long case that has the performance of .380 ACP. And with a 100mm Case something resembling a subsonic .300 blackout loading.

Probably would be, I imagine a heavy-ish medium speed bullet was easier to design around though. You can make the piston beefier and it doesn't have to be moving as fast before it comes to its sudden halt. I can't point to a specific video off the top of my head but I've watched youtubers trying to use pistons and .22 blanks to do things and it's always terrifying because the first three or so incarnations of their pistons always violently fragment despite seeming like they should be fine because they're super beefy, made of modern steel, and they at least tried to do the math, but they just never are

It's probably less of a problem for a bullet since your piston is always pointed at something you're trying to destroy, it only needs to work once, and if you lose the piston as long as it doesn't squib it's just louder than intended, but I feel like if you want max power you can just use a suppressed .45 or 9mm whereas all the piston guns I've seen have had a focus on concealability which an extended suppressor would ruin

What's a good folding brace for the Kriss Vector? I have been eyeing the A3 Industries folding brace for a while now to finish my build, and it seems that it's finally not perma out of stock. Was wondering if anyone had experiences with it, or with any other folding braces for the Vector. Would like to get the thing to an actually usable configuration. Also just general commentary on how you modified and upgraded your 9mm PCC of choice.

Also really looking forward to the RPTR trigger, assuming it ever comes to market. The Vector really is designed for full auto usage.

If you have the stock hinged upper, you can buy this brace for the regular stock.

What mounting system for stocks do you have on your Vector. I've been looking at a lot of stocks and braces for both my Vector and my F22. I came really close to getting the Strike Industries Dual Folding brace. Its all metal, can fold to either side without modifications, and there is a cheek riser you can buy for it to make it a bit more comfortable. I kinda regret not going with it for my F22, but I'm also pretty happy with the brace I did get since it's only temporary until I SBR it next year.

Okay, so this is a... twist. The Long story short after reading this, three soldiers were involved, and one was set to be charged with manslaughter for the actual death of Brayden Lovan, but he killed himself on the 8th of October. So now his buddies are taking the fall for lying.
Airmen Sarbjot Badesha and Matthew Rodriguez each pleaded guilty this week to making false official statements related to Lovan’s death July 20, according to the Air Force statement.

Badesha was sentenced to 30 days in confinement and forfeiture of $1,545, while Rodriguez was sentenced to 10 days in confinement, 15 days restriction to base and forfeiture of $500. Both also received administrative demotions.
So lying to your superiors about how someone dies only gets you a slap on the wrist?

Edit: Archived.

Given it’s the military and how it tends to runs its courts, I’m surprised the sentence wasn’t harsher.
this is a bit of a powerlevel but i was watching a bodycam video of a Jacksonville Sheriff's Officer (26 year old, been in the force for 4 years) drive to his girlfriend's house, threatened her, and the cops happen to meet the suspect at fucking Wawa because the cops stopped at Wawa (gas station) to get something before responding to the 911 call.

this fucking dude did worse than me, and I never managed to kill anyone or destroy any property and the fucker got "Reckless Driving" instead of a DUI, which carries lighter punishment than a DUI.

i am not surprised that one of the ways to get out of trouble is being a boot-licking glownigger.

a few weeks in jail for a murder cover-up is pretty interesting
There's a reason I've been saying manslaughter and not murder. Murder has intent, whilst manslaughter doesn't, when it comes to killing someone. It's clear this dude didn't intead to kill Lovan while they were fucking around, but it happened.

That being said, it's still wild that lying about something as high profile as potentially defective weaponry that is used across all the branches didn't result in something harsher then a month in Fort Levenworth and a demotion.

With all due respect, I get your point, but we're calling a spade a spade. I don't really care about the "intent" so much, as someone died and people weren't honest about it.

To be honest, how bad of a person do you need to be to make someone shoot themself?

I now have ALL the questions.

And I imagine Sig has ALL the questions too, because this incident has been a brand name nightmare for them. If it was all fabricated, this is some massive damage to an American arms manufacturer. Legitimately enough damage to make a company consider hiring hit men.

I am getting distinct vibes shit went south, the senior NCO's on the spot tried to hush things up. When that failed their commanding officers made the decision to try and bury this, but then it got out to the media and an attempt was made to circle wagons, and now that this effort has failed heads are going to fucking roll. This is starting to look like one of those situations where if everyone had just come clean at the start the fuss and muss would have been manageable.

But instead everyone involved on the spot decided to ask the question "What is the price of lies?" In their case the price is starting to look like a reactor core explosion instead of a failed pressure test.

I get it, I'm just viewing things from a legal perspective. It really should be harsher, but instead the guy got to kill himself in jail before he could ever face any punishment, and I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be another Epstein situation where the guy didn't actually kill himself but... for the damage he did, they weren't going to just let him sit in jail.
